Giuliani associate Bernard Kerik plans to publicly release some documents requested by January 6

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN) -- Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik says he is planning to publicly release some documents requested by the House select committee investigating January 6.

Kerik worked alongside his longtime friend Rudy Giuliani, a former attorney for former President Donald Trump, in the weeks after the presidential election to find any evidence of voter fraud that would swing it for Trump. There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.

The committee subpoenaed Kerik in November in part because it alleged he had attended a meeting at the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC, on January 5 in which Giuliani; former Trump adviser Steve Bannon; John Eastman, an attorney who worked with Trump's legal team; and others discussed options for overturning the election results, such as pressuring then-Vice President Mike Pence not to certify the Electoral College results, among other things.

In a letter Thursday to committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, Kerik's attorney Timothy Parlatore said Kerik "very much wants to cooperate" with the investigation but will only do so publicly.

Kerik is a convicted felon, he’s just trying to prolong things by most likely releasing some innocuous documents. The Committee cannot let itself be fooled.

Kerik can publish his documents, but if he violates third parties' privacy rights, he might be liable to court action on that too.

will have follow up questions, so if this is an attempt to avoid a subpoena, it is doomed..

Besides how else but by legal order and enforcement can anyone know if he released ALL of the material he possesses?

so he can turn the entire hearing into a spectacle in which he and Trump are innocent patriots fighting the "corrupt, radical, anti-American left".... He is not to be trusted at all

is done so that there can be candour. He does not get to halt the subpoena process, if needed or how the legal entity does its lawful business. He must know that. Trying to get out in front of the his own sorry of sedition.

They are all watching what happened to Bannon, will happen to them all as the precedent has been set.
