Just over a third of Americans think the U.S. pandemic response is 'going well,' a new poll says.

Source: New York Times

As the anniversary of President Biden’s inauguration approaches this week, American opinion of his efforts to contain the pandemic is lower than ever, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll.

The poll, released on Sunday, found just 36 percent of respondents believed U.S. efforts to deal with the coronavirus were “going well.” Just 49 percent of Americans approved of the president’s management of the pandemic, compared to 66 percent of Americans who gave the same response in July, in a previous version of the poll.

Seventy-eight percent of those who approved of the president’s handling of the pandemic identified as liberal, and 83 percent who disapproved identified as conservative.

The president’s first year in office included widespread distribution of coronavirus vaccines, the rise of the aggressive Delta variant and, most recently, the record-breaking surge of Omicron overwhelming hospitals across the country. The federal government faced a significant setback in its efforts to curb the spread of the virus when the Supreme Court rejected a vaccine-or-testing mandate for private employers that would have affected more than 80 million workers. But the court allowed a more limited mandate that requires health care workers at facilities that receive federal money to be vaccinated.

to spread the virus as they continue doing what they want unmasked.

More interesting to me is the difference in only 36 percent thinking things are going well and the much higher number approving of Biden's management.

I would have liked to see a question asking, "Are people who have not gotten vaccinated part of the problem?" "Do you approve/disapprove of people who refuse to get the vaccine?"

any meaningful information…which ofc is the main purpose of this push poll.

JUST this number of confused respondents say… going well?? Sky is falling on Biden!!

Now the Opinionators can write whatever they want and spin the result like a circus top.

Next up…on to assaulting America with more made up on purpose antiBiden propaganda!

These at-home tests should have been the focus from day one of the Biden Administration. And from what I remember, it was supposed to have been a main focus. But here we are in '22 and still they are hard to get. I'm hoping that this latest proclamation will greatly improve the availability quickly. Use the DPA. thats what its there for

Since they stopped paid leave if one tests positive for COVID. When paid leave was available people got tested every time they sneezed, mostly hoping to get 10 paid days off.

Now people still come to work even if other people in their house are positive, they are just supposed to wear a mask indoors all day and not ride in a work vehicle with anyone else, no quarantine anymore negative test required.

the real fake news! Any pollster should first ask what news source they watch. If any of the 3 above are mentioned the rest of the interview should be disqualified.

They have throughout my lifetime anyway. Most importantly to them, they want no inconvenience. None, zip, nada. Ask huge numbers of them to wear a goddamn mask or not go somewhere until they're vaccinated and they flip out screaming tyranny!!!! Sorry, my soft, comfortable, fellow Americans, BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS! IT DOESN'T FUCKING WORK LIKE THAT! If you want the pandemic to improve, YOU, that's right YOU have got to do the things necessary to make that happen, even if it's a little or a lot inconvenient. Fucking whiners.

Putting all your chips on vaccination and then letting it rip is how we get where we are now.
