NATO sends ships and fighter jets to eastern Europe

Source: AP

BRUSSELS (AP) — NATO said Monday that it’s putting extra forces on standby and sending more ships and fighter jets to eastern Europe as Russia continues its troop build-up near Ukraine.

It said that it’s beefing up its “deterrence” presence in the Baltic Sea area. A number of members of the 30-country military organization have offered troops and equipment.

Denmark is sending a frigate to the Baltic Sea and deploying F-16 war planes to Lithuania. Spain is sending ships to join NATO’s standing maritime force and considering sending fighter jets to Bulgaria. France stands ready to send troops to Bulgaria, NATO said.

“NATO will continue to take all necessary measures to protect and defend all Allies, including by reinforcing the eastern part of the Alliance. We will always respond to any deterioration of our security environment, including through strengthening our collective defence,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement.

He wants ALL the former USSR countries back under his control. He must be shown that it won't be that easy.
And Ukraine needs to inflict maximum casualties as soon as any invasion occurs. The Russian citizens are not really on board with this potential war

ally and foe alike, see the U.S. as weakened and focused on internal problems. But, at the same time, I don't think the Russia/Ukraine issue (or most likely the others you mentioned as well) are really focused on 'testing' the United States. Rather these are long term objectives for each of those countries. And would they be happening with a stronger more unified U.S. in play? Almost certainly.

they allowed German troop movements through their country in the beginning of WW2 and then allowed the Allies to use it during the end. So they favor whoever looks to be winning.

Jingoism and fear mongering alone create billions for massive overkill “systems” of questionable capabilities, and of course, billions in profits.

Runaway, vulture, extraction capitalism, like our own, must have enemies and high-tension, confrontational situations to drive the GDP. GDP measured economies lead only to a dystopian wasteland.

Is their no place left in liberal, progressive political dialogue for the peace lovers?

War Is A Racket.

When the US had the opportunity to do just that after WW2, we didn't.
But that's how the OTHER 2 operate.
Ignoring that just invites more of the same. And if they DO control most of the rest of the world, then we are doomed as well.
Anyone should be able to see it if they allow themselves to

How would we feel if Russia had nukes in Canada, Cuba, and Mexico if all three were Russian allies?

China doesn’t war, but they do remember past treatment by their neighbors who are now allied with the west.
