Long Island pediatric nurse charged in $900K fake vaccine card scheme, NYPD husband being investigat

Source: New York Daily News

A pediatric nurse practitioner has been arrested for selling phony COVID-19 vaccine cards on Long Island — and her NYPD officer husband faces a departmental probe over his possible involvement in the scam, prosecutors and sources said.

As part of the alleged scheme, Julie DeVuono, 49, is accused of using her Amityville, L.I. practice, Wild Child Pediatric Healthcare, to obtain blank vaccine cards from the state Department of Health, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said. She also obtained vaccine doses and syringes through the department, purportedly to administer to patients, prosecutors said.

DeVuono, along with Marissa Urraro, 44, a licensed practical nurse employed at the practice, allegedly charged adults $220 and children $85 for the cards and entered fabricated information into the New York State Immunization Information System, prosecutors said.

Undercover detectives told prosecutors they were given vaccine cards at the pediatric office “on one or more occasions,” but a vaccine was never administered.

The state medical licensing board should pull their medical licenses permanently. Then hit them all with Massive Fraud criminal charges.
Maybe Reckless Endangernment on top of everything......
And the cop husband should be fired immediately from the NYPD and be charged also.

Anyone who would do that and try to call themselves a nurse should be de-licensed and banned from ever practicing any kind of medicine again.

and they should be prosecuted accordingly. At the very least, the PNP and LPN can kiss their licenses goodbye. Unlike MDs, state boards of nursing will jerk a licenses in a heartbeat.

This is something that is drilled into us from day one in nursing school: Be ethical and do not FAFO if you want to maintain your license.

"Derin DeVuono lost five vacation days in 2020 after he was accused of piloting a NYPD spy plane on a penis-shaped flight path in 2017 when he was a member of the department’s Aviation Unit."

Also, who keeps $900,000 in cash in their NYPD helmet bag along with a handwritten account book of exactly how much money they stole and how they did it? I mean, stupid? cocky? (please pardon the penis pun) Seriously? Who does this? Crimeing is supposed to be sneaky. You're crimeing wrong.

The smart ones evade arrest.

An aviation specialist in the NYPD probably makes a huge salary. I have a number of cousins in a very large well known metropolitan police department and their salaries are unreal. No one would believe how much money they make.

This guy is a real idiot to put it in jeopardy.

Nurse in Italy caught faking shots, ditching COVID vaccine, police say
Police filmed the nurse apparently squirting the needle's contents into the waste before pretending to inject his "patient."

And

, a pharmacist who was employed at the East Wenatchee Walgreens, who reportedly issued fraudulent vaccination cards and would ‘squirt doses (vaccines) into the trash and sign peoples’ cards.’

So it’s everywhere in many ways how people know that this person will do this for you I don’t know. I’m glad when they get caught. I just hope that more punishment then they get fired. I also hope that one ones who receive the fake vaccine and or cards are also punished.

It’s a movement of sorts — and a rejection of helicopter parenting. Some of what they do/believe makes sense, and some of it is stupid. I got the impression some years ago that there’s an overlap with some home-schoolers and some anti-vaxxers.

Doesn't make sense.

And her husband may lose his job as well.

Average salary is $120K right now, would increase over time.

Her husband as a NYPD officer (aviation) probably made a very big salary too.

They threw it all away.

Anyone with a valuable license or earning potential who turns criminal should make sure they make a very big haul.

Since the cop husband was sending her customers, guessing a lot of these patients were cops. They get sick and end up in the ICU and are considered vaccinated breakthroughs, unless someone tells the truth.
