FBI Director Wray says scale of Chinese spying in the U.S. 'blew me away'

Source: NBC News

Chinese spying in the U.S. has become so widespread that the FBI is launching an average of two counterintelligence investigations a day to counter the onslaught, FBI Director Christopher Wray said in an interview.

Wray has become the U.S. government’s most outspoken critic of the Chinese government’s spying. In an exclusive NBC News interview, he said the sheer scale of Chinese efforts to steal American technology shocked him when he became FBI director in 2017.

“This one blew me away. And I’m not the kind of guy that uses words like ‘blown away’ easily," he said.

Wray said the FBI is opening a new China related counter-intelligence investigation on average every 12 hours, with over 2,000 such cases currently ongoing.

It is well known that China wants to be a superpower and needs to damage US standing to achieve this goal.

And China has not kept secret its alliance with Russia.

Russia is well known to be spying and operating a covert psy-op war here in the US.

He has. And I don't care. Make it even MORE expensive. Maybe things will get moved to Singapore or Vietnam; countries that aren't trying to take over the world
But since people like you & me (openly willing to pay more to get stuff OUT) are in the minority, I have come to the realization that legislation is going to be the only way to force change.
How hard can it be to at LEAST pass a law that says national security items, such as OUR ANTIBIOTICS, MUST be taken out of CHINA? Lets see which Democrats & Republicans vote against a standalone bill for that

and when Democrats have slimes like Sinema and Manchin.

One would ask, how hard is it to pass a bill that will protect food, that will set up regulations to make sure people who buy and eat that food do not go sick or die? You would think that is a no brainer, right? Well no, when Teddy Roosevelt was president, that is exactly what he did, he placed regulations on food companies to make sure there was no poison or toxins in food, but the republicans of that time fought him tooth and nail...and that is the story of the republican party, they simply do not care about people or the country, all they care is about money, they will fight anything corporations do not want, the hell with people. Why people do not realize republicans constantly work against them is a puzzle.

That's their goal; to control every part of the world that supplies everything important. Trump did little to stop them. But then so did Obama, Bush, etc. Biden is just getting started; will HE finally be different? Can WE put enough pressure on Congress members? Companies?

.... and haven't managed to prosecute any Large number of spies? And the few they have recently prosecuted were not for violating secrecy laws, they were for not correctly filling out a grant application. Oh, and they don't have a good record of winning those cases.

Calling these incidents "spying" is a bit of a stretch. I'd like to see some concrete details before I get all worked up about this.

just look at out major military weapons, it is obvious they were copy cats. Like morons, we are the major companies in this country buy computers, cell phones, chips and other items that spy by themselves. Our major companies infiltrated, universities, etc. One day everything will just stop working.. China doesn't have to compete if it steal designs, go to China with a laptop and its sucked dry and no one knows it. Maybe it's time for all our designs to have a hidden doomsday built into their designs that they replicate.

We the taxpayers are footing the bill and getting nothing (maybe spying) in return.

This state has been fully corrupted by the Republican party. The latest outrage is Wisconsin was one of seven states that TRIED to send an illegal set of Trump electors to Washington.

Hopefully, everyone who signed that document will be charged with federal offenses and see jail time.

Starting with USPS and their regulations against using the mail for fraudulent purposes!
