CDC backs Moderna COVID-19 shots after full US approval

Source: AP

By MIKE STOBBE

NEW YORK (AP) — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday continued its endorsement of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for adults, now that U.S. regulators have given the shots their full approval.

The decision has little practical effect. Tens of millions of Americans have already gotten Moderna shots, following its emergency authorization by the Food and Drug Administration more than a year ago.

Earlier this week, the FDA gave the product full licensure, following the kind of rigorous, time-consuming review given to other vaccines.

While the FDA licenses vaccines, the CDC makes recommendations about how they should be used. So the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices took up the matter on Friday.

A vial of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is displayed on a counter at a pharmacy in Portland, Ore., Monday, Dec. 27, 2021. U.S. regulators have granted full approval to Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine after reviewing additional data on its safety and effectiveness. The decision Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 by the Food and Drug Administration comes after many tens of millions of Americans have already received the shot under its original emergency authorization. Full approval means FDA has completed the same rigorous, time-consuming review for Moderna’s shot as dozens of other long-established vaccines. (AP Photo/Jenny Kane)

I was just glad to not be in the control group.

Sure, I ended up in the Pfizer group vs Moderna, based on the luck of what my pharmacy was giving out. If/when 4th shots are recommended for people w/ normal immune systems but health problems, I may search out Moderna to see if combining the shots does help some. Plus, seems like Moderna was the better one.

I thought a j&j booster would mix it up with 2 moderna shots.. and give a better defence against covid. I was wrong.

Get pfizer or moderna.

Deep state smashed kneecaps to get FDA approval. Thousands have died or been turned into newts or whatever but deep state covers it all up.

Even US senators are promoting without evidence the fake news that young healthy athletes are dying of myocarditis.

That's bullshit (not directed to the OP ).

The fact that you had (and still have) a myriad of lawsuits that have attacked mandatory vaccinations based on these vaccines "only" being under an EUA, then by having FDA's grant of a BLA and CDC's sign-off on use for both, this pretty much seals the fate of trying to avoid it with an excuse that the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are nothing but "experimental vaccines that are 'not approved'" ).
