China would 'end up owning some of the costs' if Russia invades Ukraine, Sullivan warns

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan warned Sunday that China would "end up owning some of the costs" of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Russia has already assembled 70 percent of the forces it would need to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the latest government assessment said late Friday amid escalating tensions in the region. In a joint statement with Russia this week, China said it opposed NATO expansion, blamed the U.S. for mounting tensions and voiced support for the Kremlin's demand for guarantees.

"We believe that Beijing will end up owning some of the costs of a Russian invasion of Ukraine and that they should calculate that as they consider their engagements with the Russian government over the next couple of weeks," Sullivan said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

China Oligarchs joined Russian Oligarchs who teamed up to send huge campaign funds to Republicans Politicians, especially Republican Senators and Trump. They laundered it through the NRA and then to Mitch to decide who got how much for their campaign war chests.....It was a TON of money............

Elaine Chao? Secretary of some cabinet position, appointed by Trump, is the daughter of two of the wealthiest Chinese Oligarchs, and surprise, surprise, married to Mitch McConnell......

Small world, huh..........

With her "inside" position, just think of the Top Secret information she could relay to her parents and the Chinese Government......

with all the very big changes Xi is instituting, and all China has going on the Pacific side, so the world's wondering how much Xi is willing to invest in Russian aggression into Ukraine.

Russia's foreign trade is very dependent on China; not vice versa, but nevertheless with huge sanctions from us and Europe, Russia's purchases from China would likely decline. Russia's pissant, embattled economy could also need other help weathering the imposed costs of invasion that China wouldn't want to give.

And China faces potential fallout from other trading partners, especially on the Pacific side.

idea of what's "not helping" would be different for those who don't care one way or another -- as opposed to those who go to bed each night wondering if they'll go to bed in a democracy and wake up in the morning ruled by an authoritarian police state, or perhaps not wake up at all.

Nearly two dozen nations on Russia's border face the same threat as Ukraine. You might check a map showing the Warsaw Pact nations during the cold war and check it against all the nations that joined NATO after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and/or still want to.

He knows he can win, but the cost would be too high. I know what nations were in the Warsaw Pact nations, it was my job to know.

You'd also know that if the world ignored Russia's aggression Russia would have already taken over all of Ukraine and likely other bordering nations it's engaged in constant aggression of various sorts against.

You cannot ignore a bully such as Putin. Anyone who claims to know what Putin will do is simply speculating or an agitator.

One thing I do know from all the media I've reviewed, President Biden and his administration have been working feverishly to convince Vlad that he will be in a lose/lose situation if he invades Ukraine again.
