Police in Paris are ready to confront any ‘freedom convoys’ that arrive in the capital this weekend as hundreds continue their journey to blockade roads despite authorities having banned the movement...A police source said: “If roads become blocked, we will act without mercy.”

Yesterday (February 10), police in Paris officially banned the convoys, warning that the movement “risked causing public disorder”. ...
In a statement, it also issued a reminder that “blocking a public road” carries punishments of up to two years in jail and a fine of €4,500, as well as the confiscation of your vehicle and driver’s licence...

The official Prefecture de Police Twitter account said: “Task forces made up of police officers from the prefecture of police, mobile force units and removal machines have been given firm instructions and will be able to intervene in any attempts to block the road.” The account later shared photos of its “special engines” as well as “anti-blockade tractors”.

Bonjour. We are the Paris police. We are ready for your feeble attempts at protest.

We have antitank missiles.
We have a bulldozer.
We have hundreds of police vans.
We have two battalions of field artillery from the French Army.
We have an entire infantry regiment of the Foreign Legion.
We have even removed the guillotine from the National Museum and sharpened the blade.

If none of those work, we will adopt more extreme measures. Unlike Canada, France has no patience for saboteurs.

Well versed in the size of regiments, and scale of what is needed to fight off the truckers in France, I was just curious if these efforts/resources will diminish what might be necessary for the French to help Ukraine fight off Russia in the threatening invasion which seems more and more likely.

It’s scary to think that we need to be fighting on multiple fronts.

If the wack-job idiot truck brigade are so hell-bent on having a fight with something or someone, why don’t they help fight against a REAL SERIOUS enemy like Russia.

Guess I’m too old. At nearly 68 years old, I remember as a child hearing history of Germany and Russia. And now white supremacists are adopting the Hitler salute and support Russia over democracy.
