Wisconsin Supreme Court allows ballot boxes to be banned for April election

Source: the hill

By Caroline Vakil - 02/11/22 10:05 PM EST

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled Friday that it will allow a ban on the use of ballot drop boxes for the upcoming April election, though the ruling will not affect primaries scheduled for next week, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

In a 4-3 ruling, the state’s high court allowed a ban that will prohibit ballot drop boxes from being used in the upcoming April election, upholding a lower court’s ruling from January, the news outlet noted.

The challenge to the use of ballot drop boxes came from the conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, which filed a lawsuit on behalf of two voters from Waukesha County last summer, contesting the use of absentee ballot drop boxes.

The lawsuit claims that absentee ballots can only be dropped off by hand or by mail and claimed that election statutes had been incorrectly interpreted by the Wisconsin Elections Commission regarding the use of drop boxes for absentee ballots..........................................

Those who are physically unable to deliver their ballots in person will be forced to rely on DeJoy’s downgraded postal service. I so distrust Republicans, especially in states like Wisconsin, that I suspect they will use this ruling to make it difficult for some Democrats to vote. For example, they can delay sending ballots to voters in certain zip codes, making it almost impossible for them to return their mail ballots on time via the USPS. Republicans are constantly scheming to prevent certain voters from exercising their rights.

But Im sure someone has done an extensive data research on this and determined more Democrats use drop boxes than Republicans.

If they can shave a few thousand votes here and there it can swing a close election.

I guess you two sleep nice and cozy, without a care in the world right, this ruling makes it pretty clear that your vote on the voting right bills were wrong..... knowing that men and woman died on beach's so that you could go into chamber and just side with another side to deny this country access to the ballot box or the ballot drop box...knowing that in the present day men and woman are out across the world defending the principles that everyone should have access to the ballot box, ballot drop box .....look no further...than Ukraine...the people of that country threw out a Russia back dictator who didn't want them to vote and wanted to be installed by a megalomanic who dreams of a Russia 2.0 ..... and you two will go on TV or on the floor of the senate and put words out there that you support the troops...while in Wisconsin, and many other states 27 of them at last count that are denying the same people that you support defending this country the means and the access to go to a ballot drop boxes, ballot box ... because you think a filibuster is more important, when some of those men and woman could die so that you can have your filibuster....and say so on the floor of the senate...and exercise that 1 first amendment principle of your hypocrisy.....to support the filibuster...... because in many ways when a person votes they are exercising the right to filibuster someone from taking power...so the dark money KOCH funded "WILL" has been able to deny the access with a true form of fascism and they can put arrow another in quiver to maintain the oligarchy status to deny access to the ballot box and the ballot...

This ruling is out your feet.....

This writing on the wall should be impetus enough to find a way to get a ballot to the Board Of Elections. One way or another.

the other hand I can see the potential risk for tampering if a certain party (Republican) had members placing false drop boxes around places to trick people into dropping their ballots there and then destroying the ballots.
