Canadian Judge Blocks Money For Truckers From U.S. Right-Wing Christian Fundraising Site

GiveSendGo claims Canada has no jurisdiction across borders, even as it funds a protest in another country.

A Canadian judge has issued an injunction blocking money for the anti-vaccine trucker protesters in Ottawa collected by the right-wing U.S. Christian fundraising site GiveSendGo.

The Ontario government petitioned for the order from Canada’s Superior Court of Justice, which was issued Thursday. It prohibits “any and all parties with possession or control over these donations” from distributing the money.

The criminal code allows for such an action against any “offense-related property,” meaning assets collected as part of or supporting illegal activity, according to a spokesperson for Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

GiveSendGo defiantly declared in response to the court order: “Know this! Canada has absolutely ZERO jurisdiction over how we manage our funds here at GiveSendGo.”

Are hiding behind go fund me web type sites, christian organizations and anti-vaxxers groups.

But eventually they are going to come out.

They are recruiting armies to destroy democracy and they are going to start crowing about it. They are proud they can crush democracy. They are going to stand up and say I created this army. I got these people to do my bidding because I'm so smart and powerful.

So watch for these guys to start claiming territory. You'll have the Waltons create a flag and take over the Southeast. You'll have Koch bros marching on territory in the Midwest. These filthy rich hate a peaceful nation and they are going to come out from behind these fake populist and religious groups and declare themselves king.

It's coming.

no matter from which jurisdiction they are transferred.

Beneficiaries located in Canada cannot withdraw them from Canadian banks.

Unlike elsewhere, Canadian banks are subject to their federal charters.

"Canada has absolutely ZERO jurisdiction over how we manage our funds here at GiveSendGo," the company wrote on Twitter.

That much is true. While the money is in the US, that site can manage it, bank it, shunt it around internal accounts, make bookkeeping entries, count pennies in their vault, etc.

But ...

The Canadian government can control funds like that when they come across the border. They have the power to seize money that would go to criminal enterprises.

"GiveSendGo" is incorporated in Delaware (like many "banking/financial" institutions) and it's well past time for Congress to start looking into more regulation that goes beyond fraudulent activities because otherwise, these types of entities fall into a donut hole as they are not really considered "charitable" orgs nor "investment" aggregators, and seem to fall outside of the scope of existing regulatory authorities.

And as a note - this same entity was used to fund-raise for the Proud Boys, Kyle Rittenhouse, and Cyber Ninjas' fraudulent contractors.

These people are terrorists and should not be allowed back into the USA.
Also they are fascist who hate Liberal Democracy.
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and the economy that rose to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. ...
