Trevor Noah to entertain at first White Hou Entertainer for 2022 Dinner

Trevor Noah, host of "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, will be the featured entertainer when the White House Correspondents' Association hosts its first annual dinner since 2019 on April 30, the association announced Monday.

For the past century, the annual dinner has brought together journalists and government officials -- along with an array of celebrities -- to celebrate press freedom and poke fun at one another.

President Donald Trump snubbed the gathering, traditionally attended by presidents and first ladies, during the first three years of his tenure, and the last two gatherings were canceled amid the pandemic.

"Trevor is an incredible talent who keeps us laughing -- and thinking -- four nights a week," Steven Portnoy of CBS News Radio, the association's president, said in statement, referencing Noah's Comedy Central show. "We can't wait for him to help bring our 100-year Washington tradition 'Back to Abnormal.'"

1. Trevor Noah will tell a lot of light-hearted jokes about President Biden.

2. President and First Lady Biden will laugh at them.

3. The First Lady will appear at the event not looking trashy. The President’s makeup will not be orange. The President’s tie will not be a trip hazard.

4. There will be no hamberders or cold French fries served at the dinner.

5. Everyone will have a good time.

6. The President will not declare war on the United States after the event.

AND…

7. TFFG will be a frequent target of jokes. Those will not be light-hearted. People will laugh for the first time in five years without fear of retaliation.
