(55,828 posts)that guns are too popular in TX to elect O'Rourke. If he sees a path to victory, I haven't a clue.

(14,307 posts)A hot mic moment, a blunder of importance, a criminal allegation under investigation, or a good scandal would all do. Better still--a combination. No way he is a clean straight shooter.

We need to expose the crooks and their traps.
I really like Beto. He is unbelievably earnest and tenacious.
He would be wonderful for Texas.

(15,006 posts)I'm afraid that wouldn't help Beto's chances.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was actually indicted for three felonies in 2015...and he was reelected in 2018.

Anytime I picture "Beto", I think "that's the guy that lost to Ted Cruz".
He's more fit to be someone's chief of staff than a candidate, I'm sorry.

(22,120 posts)Beto couldnt beat the most loathsome guy in the Senate. I dont see how he can beat Abbott.
Saying he was coming for their guns was a huge misstep. That will be in every Abbott ad closer to the election. Maybe he can turn this around, but as of now I dont see how.
I really wish hed stayed in Congress.

(29,785 posts)The consensus of forum hosts is that this poll is not important breaking news. Poll results typically belong in General Discussion rather than LBN, even for closely followed races. However, news may be so important that an exception is warranted, for example if it looks like theres a dramatic shift late in a critical race.
