Satellite imagery shows Russian ground forces dispersing to positions close to the Ukraine border

Source: CNN

New satellite imagery shows intensified activity among Russian units close to Ukraine's northeastern border, with units that were in garrisons appearing to take up field positions.

The satellite images were collected by Maxar on Sunday.

Maxar assesses that "multiple new field deployments of armored equipment and troops have been observed northwest of Belgorod and near Soloti and Valuyki, Russia."

These towns are within 35 kilometers (around 21 miles) of the Russian border with Ukraine.

one of the biggest mistakes ever by Russia. Putin will be subjecting his own people to tremendous suffering and loss of life. All for maintaining his autocratic power and that of his friends. I've read that he's already the richest man in the world. How much does he need? And at what cost? Pure sociopathic behavior.

They are like the GOP, power, control, wealth are the only things they care about.

The people are totally expendable.

but we can punish him and make him think about it before trying it again and I think unfortunately a military response from us is in order. I think he thinks his military is impressive and certainly in numbers it is but I just don't think their training or equipment can stand up to ours.

11. He can do any number of things to force us to abandon any sanctions.

He could implement a timeline to de-orbit the Russian portions of the ISS. That’ll take 3 months, we’d have no choice but to accept his decision, as it’s Russian property, and it’d be on the news like a soap opera.

He could resume nuclear tests, and deploy his ‘Poseidon’ torpedo to the mid-Atlantic. He could also provide missile and nuclear tech to the North Koreans, Iranians or anyone else he wants.

He could also start vetoing everything that comes to the UN Security Council, basically shutting the place down.

He could start testing anti satellite weapons on several defunct Russian satellites. As if low earth orbit isn’t already treacherous. Both China and Russia have already done this on a small scale, but a Larger testing program would be a disaster. An epic disaster.

That’s just the barest minimum of stuff i thought of in 5 minutes, I’m sure they could do a whole bunch more shit. He’s also 100% going to be able to sell his oil, most likely to the Chinese. He may make a little less profit, but they’ll get along just fine.

Fucking Putin used Polonium to murder somebody. Russia has endured many more hardships than any of our fucking Boycotts. Do you think this KGB prick is going to tremble? He is like fucking Hitler invading Czechoslovakia prior to WWII. He is a pissant dictator who is trying to re-establish the USSR. For Christ sake he took a shirtless pick of himself on a horse to prove his virility. Who does that? He has issues.

"He has issues."

That may be a key to his affinity for trump. Beside trump being an equivalent of Yassir Arafat. Stupid, corrupt, and physically repulsive.
