Ukraine says it shot down Russian paratrooper transport plane

Source: AP

KYIV, Ukraine — Ukraine’s military says it has shot down a Russian military transport plane with paratroopers on board.

According to a statement from the military’s General Staff, the Il-76 heavy transport plane was shot down near Vasylkiv, a city 40 kilometers south of Kyiv. The Russian military has not commented on the incident so far, and the report could not be immediately verified.

Putin stole those highly trained men from their families.

I care that the Russian paratroopers were sent to further Putin's war crimes. I care that the Russian commanders are equally guilty of war crimes. I care that Russian troops in Ukraine are individually committing war crimes.

I see it as the potential for committing atrocities being reduced. This action saved lives. My sympathy for a brutal invading force is low and Ukrainians are fighting for survival.
If the Russians don't like their people returning in body bags or already disposed of by mobile cremation units, then don't vote for a bloody dictator.

and I would expect being the megalomaniac that Putin is he expected a very quick victory, every day this stretches out and every Russian in a body bag brings Putin closer to having this back fire big time.

Plus it actually looks like Russian military is not that good (maybe), I bet he expect this to over in 48 hours

I was just thinking the same thing.

It looks like Putin's propaganda machine built up
the military to look a lot stronger than it is.

Putin now looks like more bluster than bite.

that in the previous invasion of Crimea, Russia had mobile crematoriums so that there would be no pictures of body bags. They were used on both the Russians and their enemies.

Putin was NOT expecting the Ukrainians to be able to do this.

Putin was probably also not expecting to be losing the war almost immediately after starting it.

Ukraine still has radar sites operating that can track aircraft, then relay coordinates to missile batteries.
