Russia tells US envoy that Russian-American relations are on the verge of rupture

Source: Yahoo

The Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday that it had summoned the U.S. ambassador to warn that President Joe Biden's recent remarks have put Russian-American relations on the verge of rupture.

Biden last week described Russian President Vladimir Putin as a "war criminal" as Russia's missile attacks on Ukraine cities intensified. The Foreign Ministry, in a social media post, called the statement and other references to Putin and the Russian invasion "unworthy of a statesman of such high rank."

The ministry warned Ambassador John Sullivan that hostile actions taken against Russia would be met with a "decisive and firm rebuff."

The warning came hours after Ukraine firmly rejected a Russian offer to open two safe corridors out of Mariupol in exchange for the city's surrender as the relentless missile strikes on the battered seaport city stretched deeper into a fourth week.

Typical narcissistic, sociopathic megalomania from Putler and his stooges.

They illegally invade a country, lie about it, then threaten people who don't fall in line.

Sorry, we can do without Russia. I wonder if the RW is still selling those "I'd rather be Russian than a Democrat" shirts they loved so much.

no one cares about this stupidity and your meaningless threats anymore. Your "sanctions" against President Biden, his son, HRC etc are merely further examples of the idiocy of this brutal murderous regime. We are laughing at how foolish you are and crying as to what you are doing to humanity.

You ruptured everything with your invasions of Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea, and now Ukraine. Of course, there will be the "what about" Iraq. That's totally irrelevant to your genocidal behavior.

Get the hell out of Ukraine and learn to take care of the Russian people. You haven't done one thing for them. My only criticism of them is they have allowed Putin to go on for so long.

I hope Putin gets "ruptured."

Followed by the dismantling of its nuclear arsenal and full restitution to Ukraine for all damages. Compensation for fatalities and injuries inflicted on Ukrainian people during this war will be resolved later.

That is all.

ALL members of the Russian government responsible for the illegal invasion of Ukraine must be handed over to the Ukrainian people for prosecution. Appropriate sentences must be handed down. (By “appropriate” I mean “use Russia’s money to construct a prison on the town square with toilets on top of the cells so women can piss on Putin too.”)

no matter the consequences. It's unfortunate, very unfortunate, but that's the only way to deal with this. We are being offered 2 choices - totalitarianism, or threats of nuclear war. Neither choice is acceptable by civilized society.

Do we still have an embassy open in Russia? I mean, they closed McDonalds, FCS, what is our embassy still doing open? They can close it! All Americans should have left Moscow by now.

Putin is a war criminal, and he should be tried in the Hague. If that is what they plan, kicking out our embassy, then that will not change the fact that Putin will be tried as a criminal, if he doesn't get assassinated first.

“Rage is an expression of powerlessness.” I don’t know where I heard this, but it makes sense to me.
Coming from a person in power, it’s a
signal to the rest of the world that he has none. He yells because he thinks no one is listening, when In fact, those who have been engaged have heard enough.

It's almost like Putin wants a full out war, which is just insane. He can't honestly imagine he would win even if it didn't go nuclear especially given the current performance of his military.

China would not enter on his side, they talk a good game but they are pragmatists and realize they need the industrialized world to keep their economy humming. They would wring their hands, complain about all sides and try to broker a peace deal but that's it.

I also can't imagine that his generals would actually get into a nuclear war where they know they would die. You can only carry being afraid of one person so long, when you're confronted with getting rid of him or accepting you and your family will die in a nuclear holocaust you're outlook changes.

U.S. ambassador demanded Moscow follow international law in meeting with Russian government

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department on Monday confirmed a meeting between U.S. Ambassador John Sullivan and the Russian government, during which Sullivan demanded that Moscow follow international law and allow consular access to all U.S. citizens detained in Russia.

State department spokesperson Ned Price said it is "completely unacceptable" that the United States has been denied consular access to detained American citizens in Russia.

He said there has been no change to the case of WNBA All-Star player Brittney Griner, whom Russia said it had detained last month for possession of vape cartridges containing hash oil. The U.S. has still not been allowed consular access to Griner, Price said.
