Jen Psaki Says 'Unnecessary' Texas Border Inspections Causing Supply Delays

Source: Huffington Post

A new truck inspection policy implemented by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is causing “significant disruptions to the food and automobile supply chains,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday, piling onto criticism of the new regulations.

Abbott ordered Texas state police to begin inspecting commercial deliveries crossing the border from Mexico last week, despite federal inspections already in place. He and other prominent Republicans claim without evidence that the southern border is overrun by drugs and human traffickers due to what they call President Joe Biden’s “open border policies.”

But Abbott’s new policy is “unnecessary and redundant,” Psaki said in her statement.

Long lines of commercial trucks have stalled at the border this week, some for half a day, leaving shipments of fresh fruit and vegetables to languish on truck beds at a time of year when the U.S. imports much of its produce from Mexico. Drivers are protesting the regulations by gearing up to impose blockades at international bridges, according to local media.

just creating situations they can blame on Pres. Biden. And oh I had to straighten out one of these trumper clowns and tell them their statement was an out and out lie. President Biden DID NOT cause the problems and prices we are having with eath destroying fuels, the puppet master of tPOSFG did it! So STFU. Sorry for the crudity, but it's the only thing these people understand and I prefer they know that yes I will get down there in the mud with you. Our leadership all the way down to us gotta start pushing back hard at these treasonous dogs. Sorry went off the rails there. See my sheepish grin.

I have truly enjoyed Jen Psaki as our media person in the WH. I look forward to good things coming from her, no matter where she might continue to undertake her profession.

Drug smugglers and human traffickers started packing their illicit cargos into legitimate shipments in the 1970s. El Chapo Guzman, who currently resides in Supermax Florence, was one of the early innovators in this. Of Course assholes like Greg Abbott are going to blame this on a Democratic president, but this shit was happening when Reagan, both the Bushes, and Trump were on office.

But I'd love to have a refugee family, or individual come live with me, and help them get established in a new country. Wish federal laws would change.

might be interference in interstate and international commerce. Clearly not a state responsibility.

They are bringing produce into this country and now it is rotting in trucks. There go fresh food-vegetables and fruit-prices. He is doing this on purpose and he’ll turn around and blame Biden.
