Democratic challenger Marcus Flowers outraised Marjorie Taylor Greene in first quarter of 2022

Source: The Week

Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) raised less than half as much as her Democratic challenger in the first quarter of 2022, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday.

According to fundraising reports, Greene raised $1.1 million in the first three months of 2022, compared to the $2.4 million raised by Democrat Marcus Flowers. Flowers' campaign website says he "served as an active-duty member of the U.S. Army, followed by more than 20 years as a contractor or official for the State Department and Department of Defense."

Greene also faces a lawsuit that aims to disqualify her from running for office due to her alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The Journal-Constitution notes that, despite being outpaced in the last three months, Greene still has more cash on hand than Flowers ($3 million to his $1.9 million) and has raised more overall ($8.4 million to his $7.1 million).

She lost over $300k. While she raised a little over $1 million, she spent over $1.3 million during the same period.

Apparently, she uses third party fund raisers who charge high fees and it finally caught up with her. Also, she had a few joint fundraisers with Matt Gaetz (Q-Jail Bait) that were cancelled by the local sites when the event sites figured out that hosting events for Empty Gangrene and Jail Bait would be bad for their reputations. As those were cancelled at the last minute, some costs couldn't be recouped, I'm sure.

They will have to divert money from other campaigns to her if they are trying to win it.

But like Jamie Harrison, this is not a winnable race. Just call her insanity to the forefront and then paint outer republicans in marginal districts with the same brush.

7. You don't need to give him money to paint Republicans with her insanity.

Jamie Harrison had some pretty good poll numbers though until morons started to talk about defunding the police.

Her own incompetence might lose her the Primary, but the odds of Flowers (or Davis or McCormack) winning in November are still minimal. This is an R+28 District. Cook, Gonzales and Sabato all see this as SAFE R.
