First on CNN: Giuliani meets with January 6 committee for more than 9 hours

Source: CNN

Rudy Giuliani, former President Donald Trump's onetime personal attorney and a lead architect of his attempt to overturn the 2020 election results, on Friday met with the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, insurrection, two sources told CNN.

Giuliani's original deposition with the committee had been postponed after the former New York City mayor asked to record the interview, with both audio and video. At the time, Giuliani's attorney Robert Costello said the committee rejected that request.

Despite Giuliani backing out of the original deposition, the two sides continued to negotiate an appearance, which led to a virtual appearance Friday that lasted for more than nine hours, sources said.

9 hours?

well, it was a virtual appearance so he probably had a selection of drinks (alcohol) just off camera.

good thing it wasn't in person--he might have melted right before their eyes. the way they did it he probably was a lot more comfortable and relaxed. (probably not wearing pants) (ewww!)

Surely he will be losing his law license and not just in NYC..

Remember when Rudy said he had Insurance policies when asked if he was worried about Trump turning on him or a Trump situation blowing up.. Wondering if that question was asked...or plea the fifth?

He just couldn't help himself, though I suppose that might have been intentional at the time. There is no doubt in my mind that Rudy would throw Trump under the bus in a heartbeat to save his own hide.

...to the committee. I do wonder if he was accompanied, off screen, by an attorney. Regardless, he probably ignored good advice on a number of answers and just kept babbling as is his usual m.o.

In that sense, he is much like Trump. Once he starts talking he can't control what comes out of his mouth. I would love to have seen that televised, but I suppose nine hours of Rudy would be more than the average person could tolerate.
