A mass shooting, and 2 more bodies: 3 Phoenix shootings in one night leave loved ones reeling

Three separate shootings in Phoenix on Friday night and early Saturday morning left Phoenix police and loved ones searching for answers.

A mass shooting at 10th Avenue and Hatcher Road left one 14-year-old girl dead and eight others injured. In other incidents, two separate victims were shot and were later pronounced dead. Police found both victims with gunshot wounds, one a teenage boy near 13th and Vogel avenues and the other a man in a vehicle near 39th and Grand avenues.

The deadly evening comes a little more than a week since an 18-year-old gunman in Uvalde, Texas, killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School. The shooting spurred another national conversation about gun laws.

Meagan Orantes and her 14-year old daughter, Daniella Franco, showed up to the scene of the shooting at 10th Avenue and Hatcher Road. A friend had called Franco and said her close friend had been shot in the area. Franco wanted answers. “He was like a brother to me. We always called each other brother and sister,” Daniella said, tearing up. “I want them to try to find the people for my brother and (my friend) because there’s a lot of shootings going on. I just want them to catch the people.”

Orantes said her son, Franco's biological older brother, was killed at a house party in 2020 when he was 19 years old. She called for commonsense gun laws.

every single big city, this is happening. It just doesn't make the national news and is probably only doing so now given the back-to-back larger "mass shootings" the past couple months.

And I expect that like here in Philly, the reporters "blame the mayors" and proclaim that this was the "only city" in the whole wide world where this was happening.

Case in point just TODAY here -

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are investigating nine separate shootings from Friday into Saturday that left a pregnant woman dead and eight others injured, including a man at a SEPTA subway station. Doctors managed to save the baby she was carrying. Police say they found the woman in her 20s shot in the head when they arrived at the scene at Richmond Street just after 1 a.m. She was pronounced dead at 1:56 a.m. Police say the baby is in stable condition.

On Saturday afternoon, a 23-year-old man was shot once in his right chest inside SEPTA’s Susquehanna-Dauphin Station subway station on the Broad Street Line in North Philadelphia. The incident happened just before 3 p.m. The man was taken to Temple University Hospital and placed in critical condition. Police say according to their preliminary investigation, those involved in the incident were involved in a confrontation that started outside the station. Trains heading northbound are temporarily bypassing Susquehanna-Dauphin Station due to police activity.

A 15-year-old boy was shot once in his left forearm on Friday night in West Philadelphia, according to police. The shooting happened on the 5300 block of Market Street. He was transported to CHOP and placed in stable condition. Also in West Philadelphia, a 58-year-old man was found inside a Chevrolet Impala with a gunshot wound to his chest. The incident occurred on the 4900 block of Arch Street. The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and placed in critical condition.

weapons ban and immediately withdrew candidacy after immediate backlash is where we are. The second amendment needs to be replaced. There is no "well-regulated militia" today and there were only muskets in 1780, not semi-autos. Apples and oranges. Severely outdated and inapplicable. Also, the enemy is within. There is no external enemy that requires a "well-regulated militia" when we have the largest fighting force in the world.

Can you imagine a puke like Rittenhouse trying to take on marchers with his fists? Or the same for the Uvalde shooter, the Las Vegas shooter.

Its been bad for awhile but I think MSM could do a service by reporting daily gun death counts similar to what they did during the Vietnam fuck up. Something has to slap some sense into the populace of this country.
