One of the suspected gunmen is among the three people killed, Philadelphia police said Monday. One suspect has been charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of aggravated assault, according to Philadelphia District Attorney's Chief of Homicide Joanne Pescatore.
A second individual wanted in connection with the shooting was taken into custody by the US Marshals Service, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner told CNN Monday night. Officials from the district attorney's office earlier stated that the individual would face charges of attempted murder, assault and tampering with evidence, among others.
That suspect stayed at the scene to render aid to one of the men who later died, and while there provided "all his information to police," Philadelphia District Attorney's Chief of Homicide Joanne Pescatore said.

(4,787 posts)A 34-year-old man named Rashaan Vereen was walking with a friend named 34-year-old Gregory Jackson, when they walked by another man, identified as Micah Towns. They exchanged words, got into an altercation, Jackson pulled out his legal gun, and began shooting at Towns. Towns then pulled out his legal gun and shot back. They fired 17 shots between them, leaving Jackson dead and Towns in critical condition.
At the same time, an 18 year old named Quran Garner, a friend of Towns who happened to be walking down the street near them, saw what was happening and pulled out a gun and started shooting at Jackson. He was shot in the hand by the police, and ran off, but eventually approached police in another area, seeking assistance with his injury. He was hospitalized, and eventually arrested when his connection to the South Street shooting was determined.
Mr Vereen was arrested for assault, among other charges. He was unharmed. Both he and Townes were involved in boxing programs but it's unknown if that had anything to do with the initial argument.

On the other hand, if someone on the street gives you some lip or looks at you wrong, it's ok to draw and fire."
Now I don't know if that is actually a true statement, but you got to wonder about the jackass legislators who thought that open and concealed carry permits were a good idea for untrained citizens.
My conclusion? America is at war with itself!
Be careful out there!
