Bernie Sanders says he won't primary Biden and would support him if he runs again
Source: CNN
Sen. Bernie Sanders, the progressive firebrand and former Democratic presidential candidate, said on Monday he would not challenge President Joe Biden in a 2024 primary and would back him if he runs a comment that comes as Democrats are uncertain whether the 79-year-old President should run again.
I think its a little too early, the Vermont independent, who caucuses with Democrats, told CNN when asked if he would back Biden in 2024. I think Biden will probably run again, and if he runs again, I will support him.
Asked if he would run against Biden in a primary, Sanders said: Not if he runs.
The White House has said Biden plans to run for reelection next year.

(24,350 posts)She won't run. She doesn't have the base of support to be viable.
Sen Warren has a larger group of supporters
Biden, if he does run again, would be up against il douche or the other guy in Florida
She'd tick her vote for Biden to be against them if nothing else

(43,694 posts)days on the nose, as she was born on October 13, 1989. You need to be 35yo (for POTUS) on or before the day you are sworn in (January 20th of the year after the one in which the election was held).
Buttigieg technically could have run in 2016, as he would have turned 35yo two days (see why it is two days, and not one, below) before he would have been sworn in, as his birthday is January 19, 1982.
I said two days before as even IF he was born on January 21, 1982, he still could have been sworn in on January 20th, 2017, as legally a person turns their new age the day BEFORE their birthday, as they have thus lived that full year, so he would have legally been 35 on January 20th. I am sure it would have been challenged, but he would have won. His being born (in reality now) on January 19th, 1982 meant he legally turned 35yo on January 18th, 2017.
https://law.stackexchange.com/questions/4783/us-law-what-exact-time-is-a-person-considered-legally-18
Here are some citations from cases that relied on this rule:
"Full age in male or female is 21 years, which age is completed on the day preceding the 21st anniversary of a person's birth." State in Interest of FW 130 N.J. Super. 513 (1974) (citing Blackstone)
"The common law rule for computing age is that one is deemed to have reached a given age at the earliest moment of the day preceding an anniversary of birth." Fisher v. Smith, 319 F. Supp. 855 (D. Wash. 1970)
"The appellant did, then, reach the age of nineteen years on the day before the nineteenth anniversary of his birth" Turnbull v. Bonkowski, 419 F.2d 104 (D. Alaska 1969)
This is codified in some statutes and regulations. For example, CFR 404.102:
For the purpose of this subpart [...] You reach a particular age on the day before your birthday. For example, if your sixty-second birthday is on July 1, 1979, you became age 62 on June 30, 1979.
In Virginia, the Attorney General has confirmed that the common law rule is in effect:
a person attains his/her next year of age on the day prior to his/her birthday
In your example, barring a modification by state law, or an idiosyncratic treatment under a particular statute, the person would be deemed 18 years of age at the earliest moment of December 31, 2017.
For a bit of comparative law, contrast with the treatment in British Columbia:
A person reaches a particular age expressed in years at the start of the relevant anniversary of his or her date of birth. (Interpretation Act s. 25)
another explanation from that site:
Finally this applies for US Federal candidates as well. Congress is sworn in on January 3rd, so a person must be 25 (for the House of Representatives) or 30 (for the Senate) to be sworn in. Thus a person born on January 4th 1996 is eligible to run for the US House in the 2020 elections, as they would be legally assumed to be 25 on January 3, 2021 (the day they are sworn in and the day they are legally 25). The US president is sworn in on January 20th and must be 35 years old, so a person a person born on January 21, 1986 could actually run in the 2020 race, as they would be legally 35 years old on January 20, 2021.

(17,995 posts)To the Sanders / Graham debate on Fox? I flip to them to see what they are showing.. The part I watched was Bernie telling President Biden what he should be doing. Why he agreed to that so called debate is beyond me. I wondered if it was an old one until I heard him telling the President what he should be doing.
Sanders is like Sinema and Manchin, all for me. He may have praised Biden, but I did not see it. I know that clip of him telling the President what he should be doingwill be played over and over on Fox.

(9,980 posts)... Bernie helped Hillary and Biden win the vote (but not, in one case, the Electoral College) by making them look "centrist." That is not needed if Biden runs again, as expected. However, if Biden should opt out, a "far left" candidate will be needed and I hope Bernie reconsiders. Primaries only, of course - NOT independent in a General Election!
