Rep. Mike Kelly Accused of Helping Wisconsin Senator Hand over Slate of False Electors
Source: Erie News Now
In a radio interview Thursday, the Senator from Wisconsin says that a fake electors document meant to reach Pence allegedly originated from Kelly's office, but Kelly is denying this.
His spokesperson is calling these allegations "patently false" and adds the Congressman "has not spoken to Sen. Johnson for the better part of a decade, and he has no knowledge of the claims Mr. Johnson is making related to the 2020 election.
This all came about after the January sixth committee investigating the Capitol attack say former president Donald Trump tried to get electors in some states to declare they were the correct members of the Electoral College.

(18,964 posts)first, the document "...allegedly originated from Kelly's office, but Kelly is denying this"
This gives Kelly the ability to use weasel words to blame it on his staff and deny any knowledge....
Next,
"...(Kelly) has not spoken to Sen. Johnson for the better part of a decade"
staff- to staff communication?
Can't trust these guys on any level...and as the heat gets raised, the lies and weasel words will become more common.

(8,509 posts)I also love that Johnson is changing his story - two days ago it was "I know nothing." Now it's that this originated with someone else - not my fault, didn't know what was going on.
So much BS getting piled higher and deeper.
Edited to add that I am so thrilled that this mofo can't be replaced on the ballot. The beauty of these hearings is that nearly all of these treasonous cheese weasels are on the ballot and now have to run from a place of obvious and growing guilt.

(97 posts)add this to his "distinguished" resume. As a Wisconsinite, I've always asked myself why a millionaire would want a Senator's job that only pays what? $250,000 per year? The benefits he's reaped from his own legislation far outweighs the $250k. That's pocket change to him.

(369 posts)On trick employed by these people is to plant a damaging but false, or partially false story in the news. Then they spring some exculpatory evidence or something that proves some aspect of the story wrong, or casts legitimate doubt on it. Then they use that to muddy the waters and claim the whole thing is a which hunt and to further vilify the press.

(70,501 posts)2 days ago his story was:
Somebody that Ron Johnson or nobody on his staff knew brought a list of fake electors ....
.... to his office after which Ron Johnson's chief of staff called the Vice President's office and asked
Pence's chief of staff if he wanted it (the list of fake electors) and Pence's chief of staff said he didn't
want it and besides it was just the 1st day on the job for Johnson's chief of staff too.
Makes sense to me.

(15,286 posts)Apparently the members of each chamber don't interact much with each other. And they're from 2 different states seperated by the Great Lakes.
That's why I find it very odd that Johnson said Kelly originated the memos that didn't even involve Pennsylvania. Maybe Kelly's was the first name that popped into Johnson's head.

(3,850 posts)Especially something like this. But, to be fair, until there is evidence, and Ron Johnson's word is not evidence, he's innocent until proven guilty.
