(8,329 posts)The members of Congress are guests here. They have mostly flown home. It does not impact on them at all.

(128,856 posts)they would be making their way out of there. But the Senate were probably already on the road outta there on red-eyes early this morning since they did their vote late last night.

(24,282 posts)What about emergency vehicles that will now take longer to get to the scene of an emergency? What about missed appointments like with a doctor?
But it's not really about whether or not you are hurting anyone, it about pissing people off instead of inviting over to our side. It's counter-productive.

I always thought; "Do not get injured in D.C.." It's one big traffic jam at rush hour, and a slightly smaller traffic jam at other times of the day. Their EMT's had a pretty bad reputation of dealing with anyone that was gay or trans. Or pretty much anyone.
[on edit] I forgot, I wanted to say I used to go home by taking 34th street down to Key Bridge. It's a narrow, residential street for the well to do. The Fire Dept. thought nothing of taking that street at Rush Hour in the afternoon instead of Wisconsin Ave. 34th was One Way, with parking on both sides, you had to find the nearest driveway/alley to get out of the way of the Fire Engines, sirens, lights, horns, and all. Stressful to say the least. It made no sense to me.
As far as inviting "them" to our side, they won't come unless they are wearing a suicide vest.

(21,432 posts)this is not a constructive way to fight back. It gives fuel to the opposition.
Fight back in ways that gain votes for Dems and reforms.
Motivate people to vote against the right wingers.
Rallies to register and get out the vote. Inform people of which candidates in their states and districts are pro or anti choice. Focus on women who are willing to speak up about their abortion choices.

(6,818 posts)If we only had some words that talking heads could say to reveal the situation with clarity. The protests should concentrate on Fox news headquarters. 1 or 2 million angry women should get even Fox's attention after a month or two. The women are going to act out, they should act out. May as well focus and make it count.

(162 posts)miles away from the Douglas bridge and noticed an electronic sign for that exit indicating the bridge was closed until further notice. If anything, it caused BIG time traffic backups for miles. People like me were annoyed with such, on a Friday no less, when things should had been light.
This thing pretty much mirrors what those Deplorable truckers did a around 495 a few months ago, and all that did was piss people off.
I support women's rights 100%, along with vote and participate in EVERY election, including for dog catcher.
I stopped being angry at Republicans a long time ago. Figure it's best to use my energy to participate in relegating those bastards back to the extreme fringes of society.
Instead of blocking traffic, it's best to seek out new avenues, like bringing an actual knife to these blade rumbles with the GOP.
Stop at just getting mad and actually do something.
