(25,201 posts)San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said officers received a call 10 minutes before 6 p.m. Monday to the 9600 block of Quintana Road when a person working nearby heard a cry for help.
When the worker approached, he saw several bodies inside an 18-wheeler trailer with its doors partially open.
Crews with San Antonio Fire Department arrived at the scene to find stacks of bodies in the trailer and many people too weak to let themselves out, according to SAFD Chief Charles Hood.
Hood said 46 people, men and women who ranged from teens to young adults, were pronounced dead at the scene.

(25,201 posts)They just ruled that migrants seeking asylum should stay in Mexico.
I really don't think this is their territory anyway. At least the criminal act done by this smuggler. They do get involved with some criminal appeals, but this guy who did this is a thug. He will get a life sentence. He will appeal, but if the appeal makes the SC, they won't look at it.
The SC will side with school shooters or any shooter. No guns involved here.
Were their pregnant women in the truck?

(6,665 posts)Migrants should be able to safely cross the border without being packed into cargo trailers like sardines.

(50,546 posts)(1) KSAT is now reporting 51 dead.
(2) These people didn't just walk across the border like the Trumpites claim is happening. They were loaded into a truck south of the border and driven right through an official checkpoint. I suspect the vast majority of people who sneak into the country come this way.

(3,856 posts)Transport by truck generally happens after crossing the border. They likely crossed and then were being trucked away from the border. Truck inspections at the border are pretty good, it's the post border check stations that are easier to get through that they are hoping to get through.
