Trump tried to call a member of the White House support staff talking with January 6 committee

Source: CNN

"Former President Donald Trump tried to call a member of the White House support staff who was talking to the House select committee investigating January 6, 2021, two sources familiar with the matter tell CNN."

"The support staffer was not someone who routinely communicated with the former President and was concerned about the contact, according to the sources, and informed their attorney."

"The call was made after former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified publicly to the committee. The White House staffer was in a position to corroborate part of what Hutchinson had said under oath, according to the sources."

"CNN was told the position of the witness Trump tried to call, but not the person's name. Details about the witness Trump tried to contact have not been previously reported."

During Mitt's spiel to deep-pocketed donors. Once revealed, the polls went from a dead heat to an Obama lead almost overnight. Many wealthy and powerful individuals miscalculate what "ordinary" humans are capable of doing.

He's completely incapable of following any laws. I'm sure his attorney told him at least 100 times not to do shit like that. His minions are probably too scared to help him intimidate any more witnesses so tfg committed the criminal act himself.

Trump was panicking and trying to corner the lower tier, and then was hit with Pat Cipollone's testimony.

That had to be a rough day for him.

Rudy Giuliani butt-dials NBC reporter, heard discussing need for cash and trashing Bidens

The call appeared to be one of the most unfortunate of faux pas: what is known, in casual parlance, as a butt dial.

The previous attempt at witness tampering came from a surrogate. This tells me Trump is getting far more desperate the deeper he gets into it. It’s almost as if he knows he’s going to jail and has nothing to lose.

... in others. He sure can't recognize it in himself. And he hires losers, so it's clear he can't recognize it in others. There are only people who will do things for him and people who won't. Which leads me to believe that he's running out of people to do things for him and now he has to do his own witness intimidation. That must make him even more unhinged, right? Heh.

There's no indication this person was going to testify in a public hearing, but the J6 committee was talking to them. Given that it's a low level staffer - not an appointee or their staff - they normally wouldn't be communicating with the orange fuck. In order for this person to know it was the orange fuck, he must have left a voice mail or there was caller ID. They wouldn't have had him in their contacts list. And it must have freaked out this person to get a call from the blue from the orange fuck. I mean, wouldn't you be thinking, "Why the hell is he calling ME?"

And how did the orange fuck find out this person was talking to the committee? There are lots of questions that need to be answered here.

Someone in the room with J6 committee members, whether a low-level staffer or Capitol building employee or contractor, either has direct access to tfg or provides information to a surrogate with direct access to tfg. Is that person/spy a loyal trumper or is it someone that was paid, threatened or blackmailed?

How did he know to go after this low level staffer? Somebody told him.

Now, it could be something as simple as this staffer telling someone who told someone else, and it got back to him. But I'd like to know how he found out this person was being interviewed.

I think it is the other young lady who worked in the White House, and after Cassidy Hutchinson testified, has been in contact with -- at least -- Liz Cheney. She hadn't been in the news previous to this, and there are indications she can testify to many things that are not hearsay.

I don't think the committee would waste their time if it's just that one incident they want corroborated. And even so, I can't see the committee wasting time hunting down he said/she said anecdotes just to confer credibility on Ms. Hutchinson's testimony. They ALREADY believe her to be very credible and they have far more important leads to chase.

No. This person has valuable information to the committee regarding the coup. Support staff is always present and although they may be ignored and blend into the background, they hear everything and they know everything that goes on.
