Murdoch's New York Post dumps Trump, calling him "unworthy to be chief executive again"

Source: CNN

New York (CNN)One of Donald Trump's favorite newspapers — controlled by his media ally Rupert Murdoch — says Trump is "unworthy to be this country's chief executive again."

Those words, in this weekend's New York Post, may be the tabloid's strongest critique of Trump yet.
Journalists are unflinching as they cover explosive 1/6 testimony. Meanwhile, MAGA Media spins for Trump

It was published online on Friday evening, around the same time another Murdoch publication, the Wall Street Journal, also published an editorial harshly critiquing the former president.
The Journal called him "The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6" and praised Vice President Mike Pence. "Character is revealed in a crisis, and Mr. Pence passed his Jan. 6 trial. Mr. Trump utterly failed his," the Journal editorial stated.

Instead of making excuses or changing the subject, as some conservative commentators have done, the Journal's editorial said Trump "failed" to do his duty as commander in chief.
The Post's editorial page, which wrote last month that "we need a fresh start" with "a new crop of conservatives," went further in its editorial after Thursday's prime time hearing.
"It's up to the Justice Department to decide if this is a crime," the Post said. "But as a matter of principle, as a matter of character, Trump has proven himself unworthy to be this country's chief executive again."

I'd like to see that article in red and purple zone publications.
And Murdoch is probably trying to distance himself from tfg, the orange menace.

I hate to think of which menace he might endore instead. (Last week I actually saw 2 Floridians in NC, wearing desantis 2024 t shirts.)

His media empire, including Fox News, may be taken down a few notches if the Murdoch pivot away from Trump to a DeSantis or Abbott fails and Trump re-ascends to the top of the GOP.

He dumped Gordon Brown even though he could not stand Cameron. He dumped his son James. He dumped Jerry Hall by email. He did not get a chance to dump Blair while he was still in office, but was not amused when Tony was 'sleeping' with his then wife.

Murdoch takes pride in choosing his timing. The first the PMs knew was when it was on the front page of the Sun.

we all learned that he can win even when the GOP hates him. He vanquished more than a dozen candidates, all of whom hated him (Mitt, Lindsey) who now cower before him. As much as desantis is getting heat, there are many who will find him grating.

but we don't know why, really. He isn't a hero. He stared adoringly at Trump and praised him for four years. He doesn't get to crawl out from underneath that mantle just because he did his job on one day, after having to consult with, of all people, Dan Quayle.

Why did he have to consult with anybody? Why didn't he know? Was he looking for an excuse to do it, and found none?

I am glad he didn't get caught that day. He didn't deserve that for crossing Trump. But, he isn't a hero. He's not particularly Presidential material. He hasn't spoken out against Trump's actions; he didn't testify at the J6, and he'll be wasting his money if he runs for that office.

Is someone keeping up with then number of "medal of honor" medals that we need to start handing out to all the republicans who NOW see trump as a horrible person. First they built him up and made a lot of money by putting the monster in power. Now that the monster is being seen as a nuisance so they start speaking out against him. We had to suffer 4 years of BS while they made money now they want the medal of honor for speaking up to the Jan 6 committee and now taking his mouth piece away after posting nothing but pro-trump BS all this time.
