Trump Golf Course in New York City Will Host Saudi-Backed Event

Source: New York Times

A New York City-owned golf course managed by former President Donald J. Trump’s family business is expected to host a Saudi Arabia-backed tournament in October, a city official confirmed on Thursday.

The women’s golf tournament, part of the Aramco Team Series, was approved to be held at the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in the Bronx by the Eric Adams administration, according to a city official who was familiar with the matter but not authorized to publicly discuss it.

Like the LIV Golf series that has upended the highest levels of men’s golf by poaching some top players from the PGA Tour, the Aramco Team Series has close ties to the Saudi government’s web of enterprises. The two, though, are separate operations.

City officials determined that they could not “unreasonably withhold approval” for the event under the city’s contract with the Trump Organization, according to another city official who was familiar with the matter.

Jarred getting $2 Billion from them?

An FBI raid at MAL for documents not belonging to TDFG?

Coincidence?

The Wollman Rink in Central Park and the Ferry Point golf course contracts were among a number of venues that former Mayor de Blassio cancelled after Jan. 6th.

What gives?

The Trump Organization’s management of the course was the subject of a tense battle with the city last year. The former mayor, Bill de Blasio, moved to terminate the company’s contract following the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol in Washington.

But in April 2022, a judge ruled that the Trump Organization could continue to operate the city-owned golf course and found that New York City had wrongly terminated the contract. Mr. de Blasio had argued that Mr. Trump had incited violence in Washington, which he said qualified as criminal activity that gave the city the right to sever ties.

Fundamentally, the contract is with the corporation, not Trump personally.

As far as I can tell from news reports of Trump's family tree, they were nowhere near Germany when the Nazis arose.

(If you can source something credible that reports differently, please adduce it. Otherwise, your statement's implication is that anyone from Germany prior to the defeat of the Third Reich has a Nazi heritage, and that's clearly quite an overstatement.)

Retropolis

The story of Donald Trump’s grandfather, who came to the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor

By Kristine Phillips
July 12, 2018 at 11:01 a.m. EDT

The packed steamship S.S. Eider arrived in New York City’s Castle Garden, the country’s first immigration center, on Oct. 17, 1885. Hundreds of would-be Americans from Germany had traveled for 10 days across the North Atlantic to their new home. Among them was a skinny, light-haired 16-year-old boy who had left his hometown, a small winemaking village where working hard meant just getting by.

Friedrich Trump stood on the deck, “waiting for his first glimpse of the New York Harbor,” author Gwenda Blair wrote in her 2001 book, “The Trumps: Three Generations That Built an Empire.”

He did not have much; the young barber’s apprentice had brought only some clothes crammed in a small suitcase.

“He didn’t know English. He couldn’t possibly have known English,” Blair told The Washington Post. “He didn’t have anything like a high school diploma. He was literate, but in German.”

That's definitely an interesting bit of history.

Also, I had not known about the Das deutsche Führerlexikon. It is archived at the following link (FYI: click on the red button marked Viewer, if you want to inspect it, and then scroll through its pages using the red button on the upper right which is marked in part with [1]-Vorder...):

https://www.deutsche-digitale-bibliothek.de/item/2EXRVENDF6PCJADLBJAKB5FMFONYBT22 .

On page 497 (marked by [501] - Seite 497 in the scrolled listing of pages) of the book, it has the entry to which you are referring.

That entry states:

...

Geboren: 27. Oktober 1892 in Gifhorn (Prov. Hannover); bäuerliche Abstammung aus Niedersachsen.

...

So, He was born on 10/27/1892 in Gifhorn (which is located in Hannover Province) and comes from a rural family from a region of Lower Saxony.

At any rate, that is as close as I can get after a cursory inspection of the background of that Trumpf. Maybe, he is related to Donald Trump, but this has his origin in a completely different part of Germany. (Kallstadt is not near to that area.) Are there further records online that actually indicate a familial relationship? (Not all Smiths are related after all.)

Anyway, if you know of any other material online which makes the specific connection between Gifhorn and Kallstadt, I would be interested to know. Either way, thank you for bringing this up: it's good to find out new things.

Can you imagine the protesters? They will block entrances and when TFG calls the police they will stand down. I see a major public humiliation for him courtesy of NYC residents.

From what I understand, this would come from the tax fraud investigation, and would ban the company from doing business in NY in ANY capacity.
