Georgia 2022: Walker Holds Two-Point Lead Over Warnock in Tight Senate Race; Kemp Leads Abrams by Fo
Source: Emerson Polling
The latest Emerson College Polling survey of the Georgia general election finds Senator Raphael Warnock trailing his Republican opponent, Herschel Walker by two points, 44% to 46%. Four percent plan to vote for someone else and 7% are undecided. Regardless of whom they support, 53% expect the incumbent Senator Warnock to win while 47% expect Walker to win. This reflects a tightening of the race since April, when the Emerson College poll had Walker ahead 49% to 45%.
Spencer Kimball, Executive Director of Emerson College Polling said, Walker leads Warnock among rural voters 58% to 24% while Warnock leads Walker 66% to 25% among urban voters. In the suburbs, voters are breaking for Walker by a nine-point margin, 50% to 41%.

(2,904 posts)Very different voting patterns outside I-285 than inside (Atlanta is inside).
I can confidently predict that Warnock and Kemp will win pretty easily. If republicans had run anyone other than a complete nutjob, Warnock would be in trouble. Lots of republicans (especially the moderate/educated ones) will just not vote for him because he is literally insane, and they recognize that. But those same ones love Kemp, who has walked a pretty moderate path (for Georgia, at least).

(4,392 posts)This same poll has had Walker/Kemp in the lead all year and it is shrinking. And Kemps lead has shrunk A LOT if this poll is showing those margins, then I say Warnock is up and the Governors race is tied

(17,206 posts)Rhetorical question, of course.
But anyone with ANY sense can see that Walker was hit in the head once too many times during his football career. Its sad, but he is not capable of handling a Senate seat. He will be a puppet only, of course, and thats just what Trump et al want!

(3,251 posts)These are polls we need to pay attention to. Whether we like the results or not. And just a note. Insulting Georgia voters won't bring them to our side of the argument.

(98,883 posts) The Emerson College Polling survey of Georgia voters was conducted August 28-29, 2022. The sample consisted of very likely general election voters, n=600, with a margin of error (MOE) of +/- 3.9 percentage points. The data sets were weighted by gender, education, race, and region based on 2022 turnout modeling. It is important to remember that subsets based on demographics carry with them higher margins of error, as the sample size is reduced. Data was collected using a cellphone sample using SMS-to-web, and a voter registration list of emails and an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system of landlines.

(98,883 posts)about that was 9% of supposed Democrats said they would vote for the Republican for governor
I wonder if those polled as Democrats were not being honest in their part affiliation

(36,751 posts)and didn't they pass a law about not handing out water or chairs or snacks to people waiting in line to vote?
SlimJimmy
(3,251 posts)Partisan groups can't hand out water or snacks. The local election officials can make it available. There was some misreporting on the law. But that always seems to happen. With that said, we've done early voting ever since. Average wait time about 20 minutes.

(9,647 posts)I had to wait 30 minutes a couple of times (once was actually early voting in MN), and I thought that was bad.
I wonder how quick the lines are in bumblefuck red county. There should be penalties for states that have large discrepancies.
