Merrick Garland lulled Trumpworld 'into a false sense of security' -- and is now hitting the gas: pro

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Raw Story

On Monday's edition of CNN's "The Situation Room," Palm Beach County Attorney Dave Aronberg reacted to the news that 40 participants in the fake Trump electors scheme have received Justice Department subpoenas for their records.

"Just how much of an escalation does this represent in this overall investigation?" asked anchor Wolf Blitzer.

"A big one, Wolf," said Aronberg. "Now we know what Steve Bannon was referring to when he said publicly that there were 35 MAGA leaders who had their homes raided. We couldn't figure out what he meant, because that would have been out in the public and we didn't see that. Well, what he did was confuse search warrants with subpoenas. But, still, subpoenas are a big deal. And the timing is not a coincidence ... this comes right before the 60-day quiet period before the midterm elections when DOJ tries not to influence an election. That's why this all came all at once."

Nobody's perfect,
Not even a perfect stranger.
Oh, but what a gal,
She was such a perfect stranger.
And you're the best in your field,
In your office,
With your girls, desk and leather chair.
Thought that time was on your side,
Not, it's time the avenger.
Nobody is permanent,
Everything is on loan here.
Even your wife and kids,
Could be gone next year.
And with what you have left,
You'll be forever, under pressure to support her.
And a lover who looks strangely,
Like time the avenger.
Time, time hear the bells chime.
Over the harbor in the city,
Time, one more vodka and lime,
To help paralyze that little
Tick, tick tick tick ...
Nobody's perfect,
Not even a perfect gent.
When you properly took the A train,
I wonder where your manners were.
You were standing at the station,
In your briefcase was your aftershave and underwear.
Can you hear the whistle blow,
Sounds like time the avenger.
Time, time hear the bells chime.
Over the harbor in the city.
Time kill another bottle of wine,
To help paralyze that little
Tick, tick tick tick ...

11. It's more Trump World's hubris..
Tue Sep 13, 2022, 09:07 AM
Sep 2022

Almost 20 months to the day, Trump’s band of enablers, sycophants, acolytes, seditionists were so confident they were untouchable, some wrote books and hit the talk shows proudly proclaiming their January 6 coup credentials…a few laid low or attempted to rewrite history..and they were convinced the DOJ was so preoccupied with rounding up scum rioters, their culpability was of no consequence..after all, they didn’t personally invade the Capital, attack law enforcement officers, hunt Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi, steal and destroy property…and some were sitting Congress critters, themselves running from rioters…

And then the J6 hearings came alive and committee members ”invited” testimony, presented witnesses, and exposed the multi-pronged plot to overthrow the government of the United States.. names were named, their involvement investigated and made public… but the question remained ..where was Garland?...now they know…

When is it a good strategy to wait before investigating crimes? DOJ was shocked by Ms. Hutchinson's testimony at the J6 hearing.

DOJ has been pleading for the J6 committee to turn over to them its evidence. I am mystified why the J6 committee hasn't been sharing
more with DOJ?

The DOJ is supposed to “do business” out of the public eye, under a shroud of secrecy…and what we did know came from the MSM sources with knowledge but not a DOJ spokesman…as for turning over evidence, watching committee members play “Where in the world is Merrick Garland” while refusing to share information, was comical almost child-like..”it’s mine, you can’t have it until we don’t want it anymore”..

We have only heard from one source that the "DOJ was shocked" by Hutchinson's testimony. There are thousands of DOJ employees. What we don't know is: how many expressed shock, and who they were. The DOJ employee, for instance, may have been shocked that what they already knew has reached the public's overall consciousness in such a pedestrian manner. Further, it was probably to the DOJ's advantage to "leak" the impression that they were kicked into action and are now pursuing criminals with their feet to the proverbial pedals. The DOJ thus is now being recognized for an emerging legitimacy in the wake of Bill Barr's thorough corruption of the Department he ruled. IOW, there's an emerging story line that, overall, gives the DOJ credibility and legitimacy.

For all we know, they were building these cases all along.

And remember that for a very long time, every subpoena was being ignored, every records request was laughed at. They couldn't even GET the needed materials to investigate let alone take action.

Let's play what if. What if Garland's DOJ only had enough material to issue 15 of those subpoenas? What if he methodically gathered more and more evidence because he wanted to make a huge impact, such as issuing 40 subpoenas in a week. You've gotta admit, issuing 40 in a week is a big fucking deal. And I do think the corrupt motherfuckers have been lulled into a false sense of security. How many of these people thought they'd never be touched? Now with a huge splash, Garland's DOJ just told them all they they better not dare rest easy because this DOJ is incredibly thorough and they will have all their ducks in a row when they come after somebody. This is the way it needs to be for these charges to stick. ALL the evidence. An overwhelming case. No stone left unturned.

The more I think about it the more sure I am that Garland really is the right man for the job after all. He's scary stealthy.

And I was calling for him to be replaced not all that long ago. I was wrong.

I think Garland is an outstanding strategist. So far, I can't find a single misstep or error in his strategy, and the record shows that so far he succeeded spectacularly, partly due to his ability to keep people off his back.

And his timing is perfect. I can't cite a single instance of things being better if he rushed or delayed with his decisions.
