Ken Starr, prosecutor in Clinton Whitewater probe, dies at 76

Source: CNBC

Ken Starr, who led the Whitewater investigation into former President Bill Clinton, died Tuesday at 76, his family said in a statement.

Starr died in Houston of complications from surgery, the statement said.

Starr was nominated by former President Ronald Reagan for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Washington, D.C., and he served as U.S. solicitor general under then-President George H.W. Bush.

But he is best known for leading Whitewater, the expansive investigation that began as a probe of real estate investments by then-President Clinton and first lady Hillary Clinton, but branched out to encompass numerous other areas — including the notorious Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.

That scandal involved the president’s extramarital affair with Lewinsky, which started when she was a 24-year-old White House intern.

One should only speak good of the dead. Ken Starr is dead, good.

Starr spoke against Trump's impeachment after pushing for Clinton's impeachment for a consensual blow job.

Starr's original purpose was to investigate the Whitewater land deal which turned out to be a big nothing-burger.

...that the guy who chased Bill Clinton for cheating on his wife...

...cheated on his wife.

The guy who sanctimoniously went after Bill Clinton for lying about extramarital sex, turns out to be a wife cheater, himself, as well as an enabler of Jeffrey Epstein’s pedophilia and a whitewasher of Brett Kavanaugh’s abusive behavior. That’s not counting Ken Starr’s support for Donald Trump.

Starr’s former mistress, Judi Hershman, wrote an in-depth Medium post about how her affair with Starr (begun during a 2009 bike trip in Tuscany, while their spouses were at dinner elsewhere) and how Starr’s fraudulent sanctimony greased the wheels for Epstein, Kavanaugh and Trump. It’s now too much for her to keep quiet.

Starr’s excusal of Brett Kavanaugh’s abusive and threatening behavior toward her when the three of them were working on the Clinton investigation seems to be the beginning of Hershman’s awakening. She describes Kavanaugh’s abusive behavior as terrifying: “He began berating me and invading my personal space in a deranged fury that sent me into flight around the table.” Starr refused to demand an apology from Kavanaugh and said he was destined for great things, according to Hershman.

Twenty years later, after Kavanaugh’s temper tantrum during his confirmation process, Hershman submitted a statement to two Democratic and two Republican senators about her own experience. She also contacted Starr, who did nothing. She did not contact the FBI, assuming they’d be investigating more serious accusations. Spoiler alert: they didn’t.

I'm sure you know this verse, and at times like this, it reminds me that we all end up the same, from the greatest to the least of us:

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground, for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

I'm not sure which master he served on earth, but in the end he is dead. He could have helped his fellow people, society, the world that God gave us to take care of. Instead he chose to serve a few powerful politicians, to engage in hypocrisy, gossip, and bearing false witness. All in order to further his masters goals. In the end he is just as dead as all of us will be.

I do not mourn his death. I mourn his choices in life, and the damage and evil he has inflicted on our world.

a long time for what he did to this country. He is up there with James Comey. I HATE them both with passion. Their unnecessary political actions resulted in terrible politics which has inflicted harm to this country from the top down. Their actions have caused millions of Americans to suffer hardships in small and and large ways. They shaped this country for the worse...THE WORSE! Their actions should be remembered by historians for the true anti-American politicians they are. Selfish, greedy, treasonous bastards must be punished in their lifetime. Starr should have suffered justice and perhaps he wouldn't have committed more crimes after Clinton. He is a thorough evil piece of shit and I dance on his grave.

I have my dancing shoes out and pouring a double whiskey as I celebrate his death 25 years after he should have died. If a just God existed this anti-democracy fucking asshole would have been struck with a long and painful illness back in 1999. He caused so much pain indirectly to this country and he is a 100% pure anti-American pig, just like all the GQP today. He set the road map for all the shit that has happened since the late 90s. Comey should suffer in pain for the same reasons.

For now though...FUCK YOU KENNY...ROT in Hell!

They chained Susan McDougal to a toilet
ROBERT SCHEER
May 14, 1998

PRISON - or the threat of it - hangs over those who won't incriminate the president. She has been held mostly in solitary confinement, denied exercise as well as a Bible. On several occasions, she has been chained to a toilet for hours at a time. She was "housed on the same row with murderers, molesters, abusers and psychotic prisoners, one of whom attempted to stab her with a sharpened pencil," according to a brief filed by her attorney last week.

Doctors report that a precondition of scoliosis has degenerated to the point where parts of her vertebrae are fused. She is in constant back pain, exacerbated by sleeping on mattresses on concrete floors and spending many hours forced to sit upright in holding cells. She is Susan McDougal. Her constant degradation is outlined in a motion filed last week by her attorney, Mark Geragos, to reduce her sentence. It cries out for a full-scale civil rights investigation.

Maybe then we will learn the facts of her prison condition. But to know that something very wrong is afoot, observe those photos of McDougal, manacled with heavy shackles, as she moves through Kenneth Starr's never-ending inquisition. This barbarous treatment, unprecedented for a civil contempt prisoner, was not intended to prevent escape.

The plan to break her spirit and force a denunciation of the president is obvious with each turn of the screw. She served 18 months for civil contempt, and now, in the last hours of the Little Rock grand jury, Starr piled on the more serious charge of criminal contempt.
