Bus contractor who was hired by Gov. Abbott signed contract not to talk to New York officials.
Source: Yahoo News
A contractor hired by Texas to bus migrants signed an agreement that bans them from talking to New York officials, the Associated Press reported.
Manuel Castro, commissioner of the New York City Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, told the AP that complicates efforts to meet and provide resources for migrants being sent from Texas.
"It's a problem because we don't know when the buses are coming, how many buses are coming, if anyone on these buses has medical conditions that they will need help with, if they need a wheelchair,"Castro told the outlet. "We at least want to know that so that we can best help people as they arrive."

Well, it has started. Abbot was sure he could get away with it, but the "Stupid One" (Gov. Abbott) made a mistake, A Very Big Mistake. Wait, is Abbott running for election in November? Someone named Beto is running against him.
Is that correct? And Beto has an honest background, not like Abbot. Is that correct too? Wonderful move for our side... Abbot is much TOO STUPID to know he made a mistake......(in Stuart's opinion)
Me.

But I am not a lawyer.
I would just arrest the driver or pilot and transport company on charges of human trafficking.

If officials wanted to. It would be the feds since they crossed state lines. The driver is also responsible.

(4,128 posts)illegal trafficing. Sieze any bus, even in FL or TX, owned by the firm and make them play it all out in court. Notify their carrier insurance co. of the crime and demand cancellation. And this just for starters. Herald these acts in the media to scare off any other bus co, from following Abbot's or DeSatan's order. Arrest the woman (mystery woman) who produced those fake documents. This all just for starters.
Then, seize all the jets that fleet charter co, has used, suspend each pilot's FAA license, impound their hangars and ground equipment. Arrest the line's executives for illegal trafficking.

(596 posts)If a contract on its face is illegal, it cannot be enforced. The contract basically tells the driver that even though what he's doing is against the law, he's not allowed to discuss it. Fail.

(23,747 posts)i can't fathom signing a contract from a government official with those kinds of terms. you can't discuss it with New York??? Don't these bus companies have lawyers to review requests that bizarre???????? wouldn't such phrasing arouse suspicions that something about this was VERY wrong?
and is it even legal to just put people on a bus and ship them cross country?????? without them knowing where they are even going???

(2,735 posts)is not worth the paper it's printed on
1 - The Bus driver / company committed a crime by transporting undocumented migrants. The Bus Driver can be arrested for being a coyote.
2 - Then, if he wants to avoid jail, he will talk. He can be held for contempt of court if he refuses, and a Judge will not buy the contract as an excuse. In fact, a judge will consider that hindering justice.
3 - any NDA signed in the commission of a crime, is void. Even Abbott knows that..

Afterward, they are free to travel
The Migrant Center in San Antonio is a not "legal" thing. It's a social center/shelter where they are given a place to sleep for a few days. The Migrant Center helps them find host families etc. After a few days, they are no longer staying at the Migrant Center due to to space limitations. If they don't have a host family they are kinda homeless afterward. However, they are probably allowed some of the daytime services.
I didn't know there was a migrant center there. I had some business to do just down the block from the center. There were large amounts of homeless people and I thought, "Yeah, it looks like the homeless problem is getting really bad...." (Our homeless shelters are downtown and the migrant center is in a middle class part of town, near shopping centers etc)
The Migrant Center is a partnership with the City of San Antonio and Catholic Charities.

I'm joining up with League of Women Voters in my area. I'm talking to everyone, "are you registered, you must vote as though your life depends on it". Reaching out mostly to young kids and handing out voter registration cards.
I'm hopeful, but if we don't have a huge turnout, well, Texas has still kept the worst of the voting machines. All bets off.
And the Republican legislature did pass the same BS that Georgia did. If they don't like results, they can be overturned.
Most are not even aware. Early voting must be encouraged constantly. Impress how easy that is. Don't wait till the last day.
And check your voter registration. At 64, same address for 5 years, I was removed. Fixed it.
