Democrat who has been investigating the finances of former president Donald Trump gave no clue as to what Wednesday morning press conference would be about

New York attorney general Letitia James has said her office is set to make a “major announcement” within hours.

The state’s top lawyer has rejected at least one settlement offer from former president Donald Trump, who her office has been investigating for the past three years.

But she has given no details of why she called the press conference for 10.30am ET, to which press have been invited.

She rejected the previous deal, they came with a different offer and she agreed. Something like they will pay $X of back taxes, but not admit any wrongdoing.

Does not strike me as a, "Let's Make A Deal," type of person. She wants trump.

She has signaled the suit will allege that for at least a decade, Trump has routinely fudged the dollar values of his towers, hotels and golf resorts on annual financial statements, tax submissions and other official documents.

And she will allege these intentional misstatements helped Trump reap hundreds of millions in undeserved tax breaks, bank loans and deals on insurance.
