Justice Department asks judge to order former Trump adviser Peter Navarro to return federal records

CNN — The Justice Department has asked a judge to order former Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro to return federal records they say he wrongfully kept after leaving the administration. The DOJ’s aggressive move seeks to bring a quick resolution in their lawsuit filed against Navarro earlier this year in yet another records dispute where the administration maintains the Trump White House inappropriately handled their official records.
“There is no genuine dispute of fact that Dr. Navarro used at least one unofficial email account to conduct official business, that those records are the property of the United States, and that Dr. Navarro has refused to return the records to the United States. Indeed, his counsel has expressly admitted as much,” Justice Department lawyers wrote on Monday night.
“Because Dr. Navarro remains in possession of property that belongs to the United States, this Court should issue a writ of replevin requiring Dr. Navarro to return what he wrongfully continues to possess,” the lawyers continued. The Navarro dispute, which is separate from his criminal contempt of Congress case, deals with emails he sent while working in the White House on the coronavirus pandemic response.
The Justice Department said Navarro used a private mail account for presidential business, “such as the need for ventilators, the creation and deployment of National-Guard based rapid response teams, and the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID,” the filing Monday said.

Most of this stuff is happening out of the M$M spotlight although CSPAN3 often shows them. I try to post some of the live video streams when available, for certain ones when I can. 
and only because I am a news junky (and LBNer), have I been able to even attempt to keep up with some of it. 
I know various House (and now Senate, once we were able to take the Chair positions back after the 2020 election when we got tie-breaker control of the Senate) Committees have been having investigatory hearings - and in some cases, with 45 "embeds" still there, and have been hauling some of those in for questioning too. Some have had to be subpoenaed to come and others who were subpoenaed, have been fighting those. 
Playing nice and reaching across the isle isn't working at the DOJ. 
I do get that there has been an avalanche of news stories that have happened the past year and a lot of it has been lost in the noise of everything else going on. But...
This is just added on stuff and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a "superseding indictment" because of this...

I expect they'll just add this issue on to his rap sheet (for possible additional indictments and later trial)...
Navarro would have accidentally fallen out of a window long ago.
And we'd have the records back already.
