Ginni Thomas claims 2020 election was stolen in meeting with House Jan. 6 committee
Source: USA Today
Lawmakers wanted to ask Thomas about her urging Trump White House and officials in several states to challenge the results of the 2020 election.
By Bart Jansen
WASHINGTON Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, repeated claims the 2020 election was stolen, despite a lack of evidence, while testifying Thursday before the House committee investigating the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021.
The committee wanted to interview Ginni Thomas about her advocacy for challenging the results of the 2020 election. The chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., told reporters after the session she repeated her opinion the election was stolen despite a lack of evidence.
"She said that," Thompson told CNN.

(22,880 posts)There are multiple lawsuits in progress, against a number of different people and corporations. The list includes Mike Lindell, Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Fox News, and more!

I think most of the accusations were aimed at those companies rather than specific election boards or officials, and I expect they'll win.

Believing something that isnt true that has repeatedly been proven not to be true is an illness.

(37,133 posts)She's a Supreme Court justice's spouse. Admitting that the election wasn't "stolen" after having earlier maintained it was would destroy her credibility. Look at Alex Jones, for example.

(77,859 posts)If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.
BTW Ginni damn well knows that Trump lost but in the end she is a "Good Nazi" in the ongoing Christo Fascist Coup.

Since most people choose other alternatives, including sports and entertainment if they're not news junkies, The Big Lie is being seen as a hallmark of insanity and treated accordingly at the polls (so far).

(41 posts)of wife that rides her husband like a dime store pony on every perceived f***ing thing. Poor Clarence has had a rough day at the office, and there she stands in the garage, having heard the garage door opening. Hell, she probably was tracking him on "Find My Friends."And she's ready to pounce. Why? It doesn't matter. To her, it's a big damn deal. Poor Clarence...

I'd still rather see her than be her. She's wallowed in right wing horseshit so long she has become one with it.

(342 posts)(and I make that claim about her based on reading her ungrammatical tweets) used to say they relied on "alternative facts" to stake out their claims. They now entirely rely on pure faith, demanding more inquiries even when dozens or hundreds of such inquiries in courts, election commission recounts and audits, and other sources find nothing of consequence. Republican politics are now no more than a faith-based system, and the faith they serve is a very narrow, twisted version of fundamentalist Christian tenets. We won't be a great country again until she and her husband and their ilk are again hiding asleep in the woodwork and under moldy leaves, only coming out every 26 years in the night to mate.
