Trevor Noah is leaving 'The Daily Show'

Source: CNN

(CNN)"The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah has announced he will step away from the anchor desk.

In a video statement shared on Twitter Thursday, Noah said that after seven years as host of the Comedy Central satirical news program, his "time is up."

"It's been absolutely amazing. It's something that I never expected," Noah said of his experience hosting the show. "I found myself thinking throughout the time of everything we've gone through. The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, more pandemic and I realize that after the seven years, my time is up."

Good on you Trevor. You've done an amazing job and since replacing Jon Stewart, you've surprised us all. I've really enjoyed his take on the issues and he helps show Americans how far they still have to go. All the best Trevor. Well deserved, for sure. Thank you!

every stand up special I've watched of his, has been in different countries/locations, mainly outside the US. I may be wrong, it's been awhile.
He will be greatly missed.

I could easily see not wanting what are essentially two time-demanding jobs, when you don't need the money, and you'd rather have more leisure time for family or other interests.

Comedy Central tried, and those people declined, and so once more a job Americans rejected was performed by an immigrant.

Who the hell turned on time compression? Anyway, I don't think he was as good as Jon Stewart, but he did an alright job from what I've seen. Gonna be tough job for someone to fill those shoes. Not as hard as it was for Trevor, but still a tough one.
