President Biden calls Gov. Ron DeSantis' (R-FL) handling of the Hurricane Ian recovery "remarkable."
Source: Yahoo News
President Biden praised Governor Ron DeSantis’, a Republican from Florida, handling of the Hurricane Ian recovery efforts. President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden arrived in Fort Myers, Florida to meet the victims of Hurricane Ian and hold a press conference with Governor DeSantis. The President and the Governor’s relationship with each other has been a prominent topic as they have previously expressed dislike for each other. However, the President and the Governor have both made it clear that their main priority is the health and well being of Floridians. Hurricane Ian was a Category 4 hurricane that hit Florida’s west coast. It had been the first time in one hundred years that the west coast of Florida had been hit directly by a hurricane. Over 100 people are reported to have died and search-and-rescue efforts are still underway. BIDEN: “What the Governor has done is pretty remarkable so far, what is, what he's done. In terms of, you know, it's, it's you know, first of all, the biggest thing the Governor has done and so many others have done, they recognize this thing called global warming. The world is changing. It’s changing.” Read more: https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.yahoo.com/amphtml/president-biden-calls-gov-ron-192956056.html

It has been too early in the recovery process for DeSantis to fuck things up.

6. Biden put DeSantis in a position he can't wiggle out of unless he plays nice.
Biden sprinkled a little sugar to neutralize the hatred DeSantis tries to display toward Biden. He can't be shown liking the guy or his followers will think he's a two-timer.
Poor DeSantis. He can't see any further than the tip of his nose and it seems it gets smacked every time he turns around. You are incompetent, DeSantis. |

7. Now DeSantis will be pressed by reporters to say he recognizes "this thing called global warming,"
and tell them what his plans are to deal with all the coming changes. Joe's a good politician.

13. Joe didn't hesitate to bring it up
Hurricane Ian ‘ends discussion’ on climate crisis, Biden says on Florida visit
Joe Biden has urged action to tackle the climate crisis after surveying by helicopter the devastation wrought in Florida by Hurricane Ian, one of the fiercest storms in American history. Visiting Fort Myers, which bore the brunt of the damage, the US president shook hands and ostensibly put up a united front with Ron DeSantis, the rightwing Florida governor touted as a potential challenger in the 2024 election. But Biden did make a pointed comment about climate change’s impact on America that drew a contrast with DeSantis, who has previously avoided the term and dismissed such concerns as “leftwing stuff”. -snip- “There’s a lot going on, and I think the one thing this has finally ended is a discussion about whether or not there’s climate change, and [that] we should do something about it.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/hurricane-ian-ends-discussion-on-climate-crisis-biden-says-on-florida-visit/ar-AA12DOid |

10. A golden oppurtunity for Biden to take a stab at DeSantis. How?
Simply by congratulating him by saying "I want to thank Govenor DeSantis on his response to this tragedy and for his new insight into why his voting NO on a Bill meant to aid Hurricane Sandy victims was ill advised.".

11. Pretty damn smart: Joe isn't giving DeSantis the chance to actively politicize the event ...
... meanwhile, the fact that Florida will be handled far better than the way 45 handled Puerto Rico, will be politically beneficial to Joe.
It's so good to finally have competence in the White House. |

I came down here. Nobody seemed to know what to do. I was talking to FEMA people and they said, "Mr. President, we've never seen anything like this." So, I said, "Well, we need to get X and Y done." When they asked how? I said, I will contact people and make sure this gets done and done quickly. Everyone was really impressed with how quickly I have made all this happen.

It is remarkable how such a sleazeball can get re-elected, how remarkable that he can change colors in an instant; remarkable that his followers don't run for the hills instead of continuing to support him. Reminds me if another remarkable man, Benedict Donald.
