Detectives in Phoenix are investigating a breaking at the campaign office of Katie Hobbs, the Democratic Party nominee for governor of Arizona and the current secretary of state.

KTVK-TV reported that police responded Tuesday afternoon.

"Phoenix. Sgt. Brian Bower said items were taken from the property 'sometime during the night' but didn’t go into detail about what was stolen," the network reported.

The campaign headquarters of Arizona’s Democratic candidate for governor and current Secretary of State Katie Hobbs was broken into this week, a campaign official and law enforcement told CNN Wednesday.

Phoenix police responded to a burglary report Tuesday afternoon and “learned that items were taken from the property sometime during the night,” the department said in a statement.

“This is still an active investigation with detectives checking all security cameras in attempts to identify and locate the subject involved,” the statement said.

Nicole DeMont, who manages Hobbs’ gubernatorial campaign, told CNN in a statement that “Secretary Hobbs and her staff have faced hundreds of death threats and threats of violence over the course of this campaign. Throughout this race, we have been clear that the safety of our staff and of the Secretary is our number one priority.”

5. If Watergate happened today

Everyone would just shrug. The FBI wouldn't even investigate it like they did back then. Maybe WaPo would still investigate it but I doubt most people would care.

So, yeah, it could be just like Watergate but corruption in our politics is so out of control that what use to be a scandal is now a yawn.

You can thank the corruption of capitalism and it's free fall into destruction and failure.

The campaign office of Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, the Democratic nominee running for governor, was broken into and burglarized Monday night, and the Democratic Party is blaming her Trump-endorsed GOP opponent Kari Lake, an election denier and Christian nationalist who has appeared with a Nazi sympathizer and QAnon-linked activist.

“A police spokesperson said officers responded to a call about a break-in Tuesday afternoon and determined that items had been taken from the office Monday night. Details about the property that was taken were not immediately available,” NBC News reports.

“Campaign officials shared surveillance photos of a person they believe to be of interest to the incident,” ABC15 Arizona reports.



“Secretary Hobbs and her staff have faced hundreds of death threats and threats of violence over the course of this campaign,” her campaign office revealed.

“Let’s be clear: for nearly two years Kari Lake and her allies have been spreading dangerous misinformation and inciting threats against anyone they see fit. The threats against Arizonans attempting to exercise their constitutional rights and their attacks on elected officials are the direct result of a concerted campaign of lies and intimidation.”

9. Police make arrest after Arizona governor candidate Katie Hobbs' campaign office burglarized

Phoenix police have made an arrest in the break-in of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs' campaign headquarters in Phoenix, the department said in a statement Thursday morning.

Police had responded to a commercial burglary call at the office in midtown Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.

"An arrest has been made regarding a commercial burglary that occurred near Virginia Avenue and Central Avenue on Oct. 25, 2022. More information will be released later today," the statement said.

The department in a previous statement said, "Information was learned that items were taken from the property sometime during the night."
