Georgia voters are encountering few lines at polling places.

Source: New York Times

The lines that snaked out the doors and down the block at some Georgia polling places during early voting in the Senate runoff don’t seem to have reappeared on Election Day.

In the Atlanta area, where some people waited more than two hours last week to vote early in the runoff between Senator Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, and his Republican challenger, Herschel Walker, county officials reported few significant lines.

Fulton County, which includes Atlanta, showed just one of its 249 polling places had a wait time of more than 30 minutes around 12:45 p.m., according to its elections website.

The average wait time to vote in Georgia around midday was fluctuating, but remained under five minutes, according election officials.

1. Omen: yes, they've been told "Vote on election day", so the Qonners can say

The Qonners want to say this evening that "See all the votes today are for Walker. Shut down the counting at midnight so that those corrupt nasty Dems won't 'find' ballots."

They purposely pretend to forget that it was tRump who wanted Georgia to "find 11,000+ votes for me".

2. Long lines usually mean voter suppression, not high turnout

Turnout numbers today have actually been fairly high. But the long lines are apparently reserved for the more Democratic leaning groups is my guess.

6. I don't recall complaints about voter suppression during early voting; just large turnout.

Places like DeKalb County also had very useful maps showing which voting centers had short waiting times.

And a side effect of the recent voter suppression law that Georgia passed.

3. In a sea of red votes here in rural North Georgia

There are 4 blue votes floating out there courtesy of the Ected family.

There was only one other person voting when I went in. I wonder if GOP voter indifference may come into play.

Here in the very rural, very red north Georgia mountains. There were six or eight people voting while I was there. Very brief, easy process. At least TWO proud Democratic votes there today...my brother-in-law and me. I'm sure my niece and her husband will vote if they possibly can, so that's two more.

7. Mostly because there were so few places to early vote

and they had a very short early voting period.

Also, cold and wet weather this morning, clearing up a bit this afternoon, so polling places are likely to get busier later in the day. I'm hoping that old, white voters will opt to stay home.

The polling place near us has had a steady stream of voters, I was voter 248 at that location at about 9:45 AM.
