Musk Disables Twitter Spaces After Clash With Journalists
Source: Bloomberg
Twitter Inc.s live audio service, Twitter Spaces, is down after a number of journalists that had just been suspended from the social network found they could still participate on it.
Twitter owner Elon Musk said late Thursday night that the company was fixing an old bug and the audio service should be working tomorrow. Earlier in the evening, Musks network threw reporters from CNN, the Washington Post and the New York Times, among others, into a seven-day suspension for allegedly disclosing the location of his private jet.

(38,406 posts)When at least some of the journalists were told the suspension was permanent - and had receipts to prove what they were told.
At a minimum, any news source reporting on the suspensions should explain the progressions - not just simply adopt Musk's after-the-fact explanation of the suspensions.

(38,406 posts)My problem is that it is being reported as if Musk's lies are being reported as if that is where the suspension started. The initial notice which went to the journalists was that they were permanently suspended. After that didn't fly well, Musk (falsely) claimed to the public that it was a 7-day suspension. When that still didn't fly, he did a poll - which he lost, claimed the poll was flawed, did another poll, which he lost, and then unsuspended them at 2 days.
Reporting needs to start at the beginning (the permanent suspension), not at Musk's lie that he only initially suspended them for 7b days.
