Biden Signs Defense Authorization Act, but Voices Concerns

Source: US News and Word Report/Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday signed the Defense Authorization Act, but he voiced concerns about several of its provisions, including one that he said could hamper the administration's prosecution of Guantanamo Bay detainees.

"I urge the Congress to eliminate these restrictions as soon as possible," Biden said in a statement, referring to a provision barring the use of funds to transfer certain detainees into the United States.

Short article but includes something other than the media focus on ending the COVID vaccine mandate for the military - i.e., the refusal of Congress to fund transfers of those who are left in Guantanamo to U.S. prison facilities so the place can finally be closed. The same thing happened with Obama where Congress refused to fund the closure, but people blamed Obama anyway for "not closing Guantanamo Bay".

They usually have nothing to offer - so when in opposition, al these Bannon-ite parties across the western world have adopted that same strategy:

Just impede, sabotage and discourage as much as you can - until voters turn to you.

And if they don't? Try to stage a coup.

and Glenn Greenwald right out in front of the pack dismissing Congress refusing to fund the closing an excuse. Part of the Obama drones-drones-drones-going-to-start-WWIII-any-day-American-empire-nuclear-stockpiling-surveillance-of-Americans-worse-than-Bush-drones-drones-drones anti-American thing (of course not a peep about drones or surveillance or anything during the Trump administration because Republicans are innocent bystanders, only Democrats have agency and only Democrats are "government" ).

republicans have weakened the military Nothing better than a single private typhoid mark/mary infecting their unit, especially at a critical time. if a military member is scared to get a vaccine, s/he does not belong in the military.
I guess I should whine it violates my "deeply held beliefs" when a potential employer wants my fingerprints to run a background check.

but claimed the vaccine was against their religion to get out of the mandate. I can only shake my head in disgust knowing I am vaccinated while watching them play russian roulette with their lives and their families lives.
