MISSION, Kan. (AP) When Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick asked Texas colleges to disavow critical race theory, the University of Texas faculty approved a resolution defending their freedom to decide for themselves how to teach about race.
Patrick said he took it as a message to go to hell.
In turn, Patrick, a Republican, said it was time to consider holding the faculty accountable, by targeting one of the top perks of their jobs.
Maybe we need to look at tenure, Patrick said at a news conference in November.

(23,313 posts)I can see red states universities, colleges, and schools 0-12 failing in attendance, and Blue States accommodating them, Blue States flourishing in health, education, wealth, decent paying jobs with benefits, and economy in the vast of democracy, including flourishing in civil rights, women rights, voting rights. Compassion for humankind, and total respect for different faiths and religions.
Red state competing in who's going to be the cruelest.
Thanks!

(40,823 posts)Theyve latched onto the idea that many totalitarian regimes have done over the years, which is if you can stop students from learning about ideas that a political party in power disagrees with, that is one way to stop those ideas from existing in the society at all, said Andrew Gothard, president of United Faculty of Florida.

(11,034 posts)here that elected these sorry bastards. They've tried before to shutdown bases in Texas and after the moaning and groaning about jobs, etc. the government backed down. Did I mention they are some of the stupidest voters on the planet - try living around them. Texas has not always been this way but since '94 it has just gotten worse and worse - maybe it's the air pollution?

(2,133 posts)You attended what would be perceived to be a liberal university. Were you punished by the liberal professors in grading? Where you damaged by being exposed to different philosophies?
It seems to me you excelled in your GPA and you were able to attend a premier law school.
Please explain the harm?
For the other conservative legislators You have had your children for 18 years and you have exposed them to theconservative philosophy, your children will only be in college for 4 years. Are your children so weak minded that they cant be exposed to a different philosophy?
