Charges of "High Treason!" Germany, which went through two world wars and was re-shaped at least twice, including absorbing East Germany, has this vital law on the books.
In the US, convicting someone of "Treason" is one of the most difficult cases to try because our definition of "Treason" is just too narrow.

Its pathetic, embarrassing and also extremely dangerous for the future for the US AG to stall and give excuses at this point. Evidence is overwhelming.
Its either Garland is another Comey or Mueller. A Republican who puts party first. Or its Democratic leadership who is afraid to upset the apple cart. That this paralysis is some political delusion that it would look to be too mean to MAGATs and Fox News would not be nice about it. And believe they will do better in 2024 if any charges against Trump disappear......like magic.

Why doesn't Germany take its time to prosecute, like the country that put a man on the moon, but can't put an orangutan into a zoo?
I too am appalled at the Germans.

Another difference: the way Germany hands out jail sentences, these guys, if found guilty as charged, they could get two and a half years on probation.
The Germans gave a cannibal 8 1/2 - until an appeals court told them to try again and he got life imprisonment. So apparently there is no protection against double jeopardy.
