Source: BBC World News
A Canadian woman has pleaded guilty to biological weapons charges after sending former President Donald Trump a letter laced with deadly ricin poison.
The envelope was intercepted in September 2020 before ever being delivered to the White House. The FBI found the fingerprints of Pascale Ferrier, 55, on the letter, which urged Mr Trump to drop out of the presidential race.

Pascale Ferrier is expected to be sentenced in April to just under 22 years in prison. Hopefully, PM Trudeau will make a deal with Pres Biden to imprison her in a Canadian facility.

(39,120 posts)Was it publicized? You'd think President Asshole would have used it to tar all Dems and cruise to victory.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

(1,970 posts)Ricin is, though one of the most toxic biological agents known, very ineffective in practical use. Happily for this world's would-be murderers, it is also widely advertised as an easily accessible poison, coming from castor beans - but happily quite harmless in the way it is normally misused. There are very few incidents where people has actually died from it, used as a poison - and as ricin letters it has low probability of risk.
