WASHINGTON — A Delaware man who carried a Confederate flag through the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday.

Kevin Seefried, 53, was convicted on five charges stemming from his participation in the riot, including obstruction of an official proceeding — the joint session of Congress that was working to certify the Electoral College vote that day.

The government had sought a 70-month sentence for Seefried, while his lawyers asked for one year in prison.

Seefried addressed the court before the sentence was handed down and said he knew entering the Capitol was wrong.

Walter White the legendary meth cook known as Heisenberg, interacts with another big meth dealer who only knows him as the legend, but doesn’t know what he looks like or who he really is in this scene. What was supposed to happen was that they were going to buy $15 million of supply chemicals for their operation from Walt’s partners, but Walt changed the plans .

For good measure, a couple more first, when Walt was on the verge of quitting early on, he realizes how much smarter he is than much of the competition and he also enjoys the power/adrenaline of his new business:

Also, his wife inevitably found out, but let him keep going (he was a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with cancer and he decided to enter this business to get money to leave his family)…she didn’t realize how much of a hardened criminal he already was - he hid that part - that he ordered a hit on another meth cook who was killed upon opening his knocked front door…

who should be isolated like that. GITMO is the closest we have to that. I hear it's not a great place to be, to put it mildly, so I think it would be a good place for them.

And no, not the three year sentence. This one:

” The government had sought a 70-month sentence…”

…and judge after judge ignores it!

That should go over well in his upcoming confinement.

"Your Honor, I knew that entering the Capitol was wrong."

"Then why did you do it?"

"Because my president asked me to!"

"Young man, when your president asked you to drink bleach for COVID did you do it?"

"No, Your Honor."

"Fine. I'm going to give you ten years in federal prison to think about making better choices. Next case."

He said, "I thought that standing there and using my voice was protected under freedom of speech, but I know I crossed the line,” he said. “I never wanted to send a message of hate.”

What BS!?!?!

Then his own son blamed his father for also being arrested. "Seefried attended the riot with his son, Hunter, 24, who was charged alongside him and was already sentenced in October to two years in prison. During Hunter’s sentencing, his lawyer blamed the elder Seefried for allegedly pressuring his son to storm the Capitol".

He should be locked up for 10 years.

that he succeeded where Robert E Lee failed in 1863 and Jubal Early failed in 1864 — in planting the Confederate flag, as part of an invasive force, in the centre of power in Washington.
Al least the dude has experienced some retribution unlike Lee and Early.
