Russia likely lost dozens of armoured vehicles near Ukraine's Vuhledar: UK
Source: Reuters
Russian forces likely lost dozens of armoured vehicles in a single, failed attack near the eastern Ukrainian city of Vuhledar, British intelligence said on Friday, as one pro-Russian blogger warned of a "crisis" in troop command.
Vuhledar, a Ukrainian-held bastion at the strategic intersection between the eastern and southern front lines, has seen some of the bloodiest fighting of the war as Russia continues a relentless assault on the eastern front.
"Russian troops likely fled and abandoned at least 30 mostly intact armoured vehicles in a single incident after a failed assault," Britain's defence ministry said in a daily briefing.
Reuters was not able to immediately verify the British ministry's claim. Unverified photos shared by military bloggers appeared to show several armoured vehicles and tanks strewn across the battlefield.

We need to add Russia to the list of countries supplying Ukraine with arms, vehicles, and equipment.

(8,006 posts)The Ukrainians said they didn't want any of it and sent it screaming back to them via the airborne express.
I'm starting to see a pattern here somewhat reminiscent of Japan's failed bonsai charges during WWII.

(13,538 posts)Putin doesnt care about death. Will the sheer numbers predicted be enough to overwhelm the UKR forces? Even if they do, will they be able to HOLD the ground they take? Will they be supplied well enough to do it? Will there be enough of them LEFT to do it?
Or will UKR be able to just slaughter 10s of thousands in the first few days? Because for an offensive like the one supposedly coming to be successful, it MUST make huge gains early. If they get bogged down early, they become a HUGE target rich environment for UKR.
We'll know soon enough I guess.
I hope we've supplied enough ammo to keep the weapons firing constantly

The Russian lend-lease to Ukraine has been outstanding. The stuff that isn't usable will be scrap iron to be turned into rebar to rebuild Ukraine.
