Tom Sizemore, 'Saving Private Ryan' star, dead at 61

Source: CNN

Tom Sizemore, an actor known for his work in hit films like “Saving Private Ryan,” “Natural Born Killers” and “Heat,” has died, his representative Charles Lago confirmed to CNN on Friday.

He was 61.

The actor was hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm in mid-February, Lago told CNN at the time.

Sizemore “passed away peacefully in his sleep” at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, with his two sons and his brother, Paul Sizemore, by his side, Lago said in a statement released on behalf of the family.

"Your dad shot himself in the head....he's not dead but he won't live another day"....my immediate response was: " I always knew he would do that"....I have never been one for denial.

he lived for six days, and the third day was my birthday.....he was 50

long time ago though.......although it's NOT true that time heals all wounds, time certainly makes things easier to bear.....

my husband blew his brains out the day after his 76th birthday. We had been separated for a year after 32 years of marriage. The call my son received was that his father had shot himself, but the caller didn't know if he was dead or at the hospital. My son went to the scene and found the police still there. His father was dead. His first attempt had been on my birthday nine months earlier, but that was only pieced together after he was discovered wandering around the street below our hillside house. Presumably he had fallen, rolled down the hill, and knocked himself unconscious. The shotgun was confiscated by the police, but sometime between that March and December he bought another one.

It's now four years ago. Time does not heal ugly.

dreadful......and I truly hate it when repukes try to mitigate gun deaths by pointing out the great percentage of suicides, as if those don't count....the carnage left behind is massive too

and the DA declined to press charges. She later, as an adult, sued him, but the case was thrown out. He should have been properly prosecuted at the time of the alleged offense. He was certainly a troubled man though.

my wife died of a brain aneurysm. it's a slow process to die from a brain aneurysm most times. it took 21 days for my wife to die. being the person that authorized the doctor to pull the plug was the hardest decision of my life and the kindest decision of my life.
