Kari Lake wins CPAC vice president poll, topping DeSantis, Haley

Source: The Hill

Former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake won a straw poll for the Republican vice presidential pick during the Conservative Action Political Conference (CPAC) this weekend.

Among a field of 28 candidates, Lake won the poll with 20 percent of the vote, beating former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis received 14 percent of the vote, and Haley, who announced her bid for the White House last month, won 10 percent.

Lake, who was also a featured speaker at CPAC’s Ronald Reagan Dinner over the weekend, has refused to accept her loss in the governor’s race last November and is challenging the election results in court.

Her official campaign Twitter account responded to the CPAC straw poll results by suggesting she’d be unable to serve in the role.

I think she'd be a great match for Trump. She's just as delusional.

Lake and Trump are both very opinionated, have a "my way or the highway" approach to life, and don't cotton to the word "no." I'm not sure there's room for 2 people like that on the same ticket.

I think Trump prefers yes-men (and women), like Mike Pence. I can't see Kari being willing to stand in the background of every photo, nodding like a bobblehead, the way Mikey did.

All she's ever done is sit in front of a camera and read a teleprompter, and not even real news at that.

Loser all the way around.

Great choice for the GOP. If Trump ever makes it to the nomination before being convicted for his crimes, they'll have two losers.

Apparently some, maybe many, Republicans can.

Republicans who can seriously imagine Kari Lake as VP need to be submitting scripts to Steven Spielberg, not selecting candidates for national office.
