Secret documents that appear to detail American national security secrets on Ukraine, the Middle East and China have surfaced online.
WASHINGTON A new batch of classified documents that appear to detail American national security secrets from Ukraine to the Middle East to China surfaced on social media sites on Friday, alarming the Pentagon and adding turmoil to a situation that seemed to have caught the Biden administration off guard.
The scale of the leak analysts say more than 100 documents may have been obtained along with the sensitivity of the documents themselves, could be hugely damaging, officials said. A senior intelligence officials called the leak a nightmare for the Five Eyes, in a reference to the United States, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, the so-called Five Eyes nations that broadly share intelligence.
The latest documents were found on Twitter and other sites on Friday, a day after senior Biden administration officials said they were investigating a potential leak of classified Ukrainian war plans, include an assessment of Ukraines air defense capabilities. One slide, dated Feb. 23, is labeled Secret/NoForn, meaning it was not meant to be shared with foreign countries.

Classified documents being leaked? Gee, who had classified documents in their possession and fished for certain documents? Sure has the stench of TFG all over it.

(114,525 posts)that everybody seems to think will happen in 2-3 weeks would not have been in any file TFG stole, sold, scanned, flushed, or ate.
I don't know if this is information or disinformation, brilliant hacking or "left a disinfo loaded laptop in a diner." We don't know and we won't know until the Ukrainians make their move.
I know what moves I'd make, but the Ukrainians have always surprised me.

(13,365 posts)the West's help. I have no idea whether that is true or not but one of the statements quoted in Kyiv Independent was "The five weeks old documents havent revealed details of when, how, or where Ukraine plans to launch its counteroffensive."

(114,525 posts)thanks to a huge snowstorm in eastern Ukraine and southwestern Russia. Both sides are bogged down.
I'd be more inclined to think any fakery was created by Ukraine, they've played rope-a-dope with Russia before and Russia doesn't seem to have gotten any smarter. Of course, even if the plans were true, the Ukraine government would just give everybody a wink and a "What do YOU think?" so it wouldn't really matter.

(33,424 posts)Russia doesn't need documents to know when Ukraine will have an offensive. They have the same spy satellites we have. They can see troop movements and war materiel movements. It can't be hidden.

"In March and April 2021, the Russian Armed Forces began massing thousands of personnel and military equipment near Russia's border with Ukraine and in Crimea," Biden became president Jan 20, 2021. Its quite possible that our intelligence had the information that this was going to happen 3 months earlier and even earlier than that. So while your argument without a doubt has merit there can be another explanation. Or not and you are correcto lol.

(16,931 posts)There was one reference to Feb. 23. This year? They are referring to the current war in Ukraine in the article, so they clearly would have been within the last year.
How would Trump have had any classified documents that weren't created until after he was out of office ? Doesn't make any sense.

(13,365 posts)information. Reading between the lines, I am wondering if what they are saying is that perhaps Russia had obtained other older documents and have used the format to make up bullshit to cause chaos. That could well mean they received some old documents from someone (TRUMP).
