Grassley, Comer allege bribery scheme involving Biden and demand documents from FBI

Source: CBS News

Two top congressional Republicans say they want to know what, if any, information the FBI has about an alleged bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden, while the White House accuses the lawmakers of an "unfounded political attack."

House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer and Sen. Chuck Grassley, of Iowa, say a whistleblower has provided information about the alleged scheme, and they have issued a subpoena to FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding a document that they say contains information about the allegation..

In their letter to Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, Grassley and Comer said that it had come to their attention that "the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions."

"It has been alleged that the document includes a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose," their letter said.

..far more late breaking news from the R's as they work really hard to blast ou any and all accusations, not only about Hunter but ANYTHING they think will hurt the President. Talk about weaponization of even the slightest issues with the Dems!

I am sure there have been lots of accusations made against Chuck and Comer from the disgruntled. This does not mean every allegation is true. So all allegations with no evidence but outlines, like Trumps many allegations about voter fraud that were all disproven, against Democrats are to be amplified?

GOP legislators approved of Trump's extortion attempt in withholding of money for Ukraine for a personal favor, and there was not only an outline, but documentation, tapes, and Trump admitted he did it!

gives them a headline, which many people (republicans) will assume is true. Just plant the seed and let it grow. Yet another republican distraction and we pay these people to do this kind of crap.

It so vague and lacking any basis. If it's unclassified, seems anyone could do a FOIA request, or the whistle blower could have given it to them.

'It has come to their attention that "the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.'

Have the specific document they seek by its reference code. Somehow I wonder when that doc was created, by whom and when it was entered into the record and by whom. Sounds like a planted doc, like Hunter's alleged laptop.

... on 1/6/21?

During an exchange with reporters on Tuesday, Grassley was asked how he plans to vote.

“Well, first of all, I will be — if the Vice President isn’t there and we don’t expect him to be there, I will be presiding over the Senate,” according to a transcript of his remarks sent by a spokesperson.
