(44,738 posts)At the breaking point. We are dealing with arrogant people fueled by ignorance, With zero love of country nor compassion for fellow humans. And trump, to date Is the ring leader. Their actions are taken for no apparent good reason with benefit to nobody. Just ask a billionaire.
Ill strive to be on target. I like a dash of humor in my quiver.

It can build on Dominions own case, but it also has its own evidence. Then, theres also the fact that Smartmatics machines were only used in ONE county in the US in 2020, and that was LA County. Ergo, even IF the companys machines did flip votes (they didnt), there is no way they could have affected the outcome of the presidential election as alleged by Faux Nuz, et al. Smartmatic can also easily prove reputational damage through lost sales and cancelled orders (they have the receipts). Smartmatic has all of these assholes by the short and curlies.
Basically, Smartmatic has NO incentive to settle this case. If Faux, Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch want this one to go away, they will have to do far, far better than what they did for Dominion and Smartmatic already indicated after the Dominion settlement that its not interested in letting the bad guys bury this.

I will agree that as of today, any incentive to settle is very, very small.
FNC may decide to make a huge settlement offer just to avoid any further humiliation. This article says they intend to fight. What's interesting is that this time discovery includes materials from the 2020 TFG campaign AND former AG Barr. There may be materials we haven't seen yet that will affect the decision-making at Fox.
If FNC offers a settlement that is big enough, and includes an admission of wrong-doing, then Smartmatic may indeed have a bigger incentive to settle than they have at this time.
